Strawb= 'legend' :D (as well as Robof John C and Skeet, btw no Skeet I don't have any tatoos: thread got closed :()

right, I was told I needed the dm4 harness, am I going to use this as a part or as John suggested, cannibalise the crimps off it for the solenoid and the DM4 eyes?

and John you've got long hair? :D

Yeah, envisage Arnold Schwarzenegger in Conan the barbarian, thats what I look like.

Although JST crimp housings are readily available in the UK (those are the white bits im sending to you), the crimps are much harder to get hold of.

If anyone does find a source for JST crimps and crimping tool, or precrimped wires I would really appreciate it.

By using the ready crimped wires off an existing wiring loom, you will save yourself alot of hastle.

Anyway to recap, you have a set of ego eyes, so that takes care of all your 'ready crimped wire' needs. You still need a set of DM4 eyes.

Once you receive the housings I sent you, its just a case of rewiring the eyes to four pin configuration, a very simple procedure involving soldering and cutting 1 wire (splicing it into two).

Using two more of the ego eye wires, wire the two connections on the solenoid to the two way housing, again alot simpler than it may seem at first.

For more details drop me a PM.
That should be it.

Because being able to do something, that you couldnt do previously is a great feeling.
If we dont strive every day to improve ourselves, then whats the point?!

Ok that seems reason enough :D
also the one-of-a-kind factor on a marker is also nice ;) (werrrl not 1 of a kind but rare anyway ;))

and the splicing soldering thing seems simple enough.
I've got the solenoid, I can attach the 2 eye wires to it when I have chance. -just have to check it's the right one first though; I will post up a pic ;).

Should have the crimps (and some 2 and 4 pin housings)by the middle of next week, Farnell arn't exactly fast (once took 6 months for something to arrive as they didn't have it in stock).
John C: once i confirm i've ordered the right crimps i'll pass on the details, they also sell crimpers but are a bit steep at £150 + VAT.

I have what i think are the right ones ordered so should be sorted.

It's the connectors that plug into eclipse boards 2 pin for the noid and 4 pin for the eyes.

I need a couple of each for projects i'm working on and Rosie needs a 2 pin one for her noid, asuming the info from 7lash is correct then i've ordered the right bits.:D
