Ego Solenoid

Looking, they only go on about UL frames.
Not keen on making a tray, wil just have to see what can be done with the dremmel

Rosie.

Its the black wire that you want to splice.

Firstly, using a sharp knife or pick, remove all the crimped wires from their housings. Carefully bend the white pegs up and gently pull the wires out.


See how on the ego connector it goes black red black red?
Well we want to use the DM4 eyes with the order black white black red.
So we need to turn the single black wire into two black wires.


To splice the wire cut the end off a few centimeters from the crimp.

Now you need to solder two crimped ends on to the black wire, use the one you have just cut off, and another one from the ego eye loom.

Basicly twist all 3 wires together then solder as neatly as possible, then afterwards heatshrink the solder joint.

Now put the crimps from your '4 wire DM4 loom' into the 4 way housing from the ego eye wires.

I hope I have explained that clearly, if not I will do you a ghetto diagram in MS paint

I now have 1/2 m of heat-seal stuff I will never need again- anyone want it ?

I laid out everything I've got so far; it may not look a lot but I only need 3 things:
body (it can have a threaded-out front reg hole as Strawb is making me a custom reg mount thingy)
solenoid inserts (what??)
screws & seals & lube for body (which I believe can be bought in a kit?)

So far, I've only spent £49.....just those 3 bits left to get, thank you to so many people , if you ever need anything you know where I am- I wouldn't have been able to do it without you, also thanks for all the advice from people on this thread & general, John C, Skeet, Strawb, Demonic69, much <3!

and...I can't manage to get the trigger right...don't know if it's meant to have a spring or something; all that's there is the trigger & the pin in the frame, & lots of grub screws

Do you still need a body?
New shocker bodies should come with the solenoid inserts.
Basicly...two holes are drilled along teh shocker body, from teh back...then small holes are drilled into teh body in certain places, for air flow from teh solenoid.
The solenoid inserts...go in teh back, with o-rings on and direct the flow of air (THEY DONT MOVE)...

No still not sourced a body; it's holding me back really, tsch

had a couple of people offer me one, and then never PM back, etc.

So, most bodies come with the solenoid inserts then? Ok one problem solved.
I can get a new body from Fly, but I want to see if a cheap 2nd hand one comes along first .
