Well I've got an 09 and I've had a play around with an 08 and you wouldn't notice too much difference. It's a bit lighter, a bit more efficient and a bit lighter on paint. However it is easier to maintain largely down to the solenoid. It's far better than pretty much any marker for that. If you've got the cash then get one. It'll last you an extra year as well I suppose.

My Opinion.

As you know i have probably shot the whole range, if your asking will the performance of the 09 be alot better than an 07/08 then my answer would have to be NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO.

I would buy one simply because of how cheap they are currently though, in most cases you can get one that may only be a few months old for around £400 .

Its a buyers market out there currently and you certainly won't be dissapointed with the 09, just dont expect it to be a massive step forward from your 08 bud.

Carl :)

am gonna go un capped ramp tomorrow to try the new marker out. Just looked at the rate of fire on my 09 and it does not seem to go above 15 balls per second my 8 went a lot higher. Excuse me 4 being thick

Uncapped ramping  i suppose everyone has tried this atleast once:D

Fresh quality batteries in both marker and hopper, set to uncapped ramping.
You can lower dwell slightly and the delay settings to make the marker cycle and shoot faster (this can lead to drop off and possible chops), but what hopper your using is really what matters. Your hopper will always limit how fast your setup can shoot. (*EDIT* words in bold reffering to sirsterling and his ego mentioned in this thread.)

Eclipse HQ got an ego shooting over 40bps (42bps if memory serves me right).
That test was done with a hopper connected to the electrical mains through an adapter to keep the voltage/current as constant as possible to shoot the substained ROF.

The last time i tried this was a few years back. Setup was a G7 Fly + Cheetah board in hopper. Got an average ROF 24bps , did not goldwave it, just timed and ball count. Marker also showed 24bps, but i reckon i could have peaked around 27-30 bps somewhere:D but thats just a guess.
