Marcus Geezer; I did chop the egg down till it was about 1cm from the body of my Ion. You kind of have too otherwise like you said it is about 18" off the gun! I don't see why this would cause a feed problem though. Most manufacturers try and make sure their products work without the user having to hacksaw it:D It's not the weight it's self its the way that the weight sits, the feedneck at the front and all the weight (bateries e.t.c.) at the back causes problems.

Eggs have other issues, the battery door for one,the battery connections another, but they did nothing about them as they still sold regardless.
Other hoppers have issues aswell if you wanna start that, battery usage, brittle shells....;)..
Most second hand eggs will have the mods and conversions done, hacksaw the neck....of course.:p
Marcus was prolly exagerating with 18",next week(after I've finished these nights)I'll measure the egg and ego height combinbation.
Perhaps they are back heavy, never seen it as an issue, but I haven't got choclate wrists...:D:D:D:rolleyes:
Off to bed,c.u l8er..

BTW matt you don't state if you've used an egg yourself.
I'll take that as a no then.
So really you posted invalid advice for the original query..
Good was in danger of becoming a bit like a Blackadder episode, you know the one...."so Percy something you've never seen is as beautiful as something else you've never seen?".."erm,yes my lord"..:p

i had an egg for years. used it on old mech markers and more recently i used it on my old g7 fly and won a UK Masters with it. i never had a problem with the hinge door, battery door, connectors, feedneck. they are a really nice loader and look pretty sweet still. for £25(ish) you cant go wrong. replacement bits are a couple of ££ also.

Well i had an egg3. The speed is fine but i had a small problem one or two times (in games which was frustraighting) where the spindle would try to push two balls down side by side - and obviously they got stuck - so i had to empty out a full hopper of paint to try n squeeze my hand in to unjam it to fill it back up again. The other was a slightly swolen paintball got stuck half way down the feedneck. Thats what happens sometimes at training using your teams old slightly swolen paint. Also i've never really liked how back heavy the hoppers wer and if you don't over tighten your feedneck and your quickly snap shooting, i've had it swing out to the side before now for an easy target. Just recently i've upgraded from an egg3 to a reloader B for the anti-double ball spring in it and the added ripdrive will certainly help unjam it without emptying a hopper of paint if it does try to cram 2 down the feedneck at once.

Sorry about the essay guys
