Hello all, for xmas i am looking to invest in a Ego Etek.

I was thinking about what type of hopper to get with it.

Would a eggy do me fine ? or would i need some thing a big faster :)

e.g. Halo b or something.

Thank you.

Wesley.

Eggs will be spot on m8,I use them on my '05 ego with the Z-board conversion;in std trim would still suffice and cheap to buy, that's why I've got a few.
I've tried reloaders and the pulse and couldn't get on with them much to friends amusment...yes I know they're faster:rolleyes::rolleyes:

I run a standard 19bps egg on my 05 Ego with no problems. It's usually set to run uncapped semi (Tadao M7 board), but even on ramp it keeps up ok. Mind you if i set the Tadao in 'mental mode' the 23bps my spare Z board egg has in reserve will come in handy ;)

mmm, well I have an Eggy 3 and an Empire B, The Egg just can't (read won't) get up to the required speed that my Etek needs. also when I used to use my eggy on my old Ion the Q-lock lost its thread pretty early on because of the way the egg's are weighted. They tend to put weight on one side when you lean the hopper into a bunker, thus putting pressure on the feedneck, this a Empire/Halo won't do. You should be ok with an Etek though because the Feedneck has no threads to destroy. But to get a fast, balanced setup use a Halo/Empire. Second hand you can get them for £40 ish. The egg's maindownfall for me was that it made my setup very back heavy and it was quite un-comfortable to use.

If you still want an egg though my Eggy 3 is for sale for £25:D

Cheers
James

Go with a Reloader B, that's my advice, never have any problems with mine on my Etek, feeds as fast as you'll need and then some, and gives you a nice balanced set up.

Egg

I used to have a Z boarded eggy for my Ion. My ion had all the bits and bobs on it, and was a fast lovely to use beasty. I was advised to upgrade my Z boarded eggy as it is probably holding my Ion back despite clearly being able to feed fast enough.

So I bought a pulse.... and to be honest I have to say I did notice a difference. A Z boarded Eggy is great, and still have it as a wet weather back-up as pulses don't really like getting damp.

If your on a budget stay with the eggy but try and get an eggy 3 or a z-boarded eggy 2, however if you can afford more go with a reloader B or a pulse. You will notice the difference, even if only slighlty.

EDIT: Oh, and eggs hold a LOT of paint when compared to the pulse or reloader.
