Personally I've never owned a Halo so i am biased but my egg is off da hook. I think it looks a hell of a lot better, so if ya want the looks and the speed...get an egg and stick a y board in it and your flying, and if they batteries ever run out during the game it can be used as a normal gravity fed hopper.. :D

As for the Halo, as its force fed if the battery runs out during a game. It cannot be used a gravity fed hopper like the egg can.
But you can buy a rip drive that goes under the halo so if this does happen you just turn the rip drive and it turns the paddles in the hopper itself so it will feed 13 balls into the breech so your still in the game...

Hope that helps a little bit..

I've had both...

halo - faster, more robust physically but some dodgy ones (electronics wise) knocking about recently

egg2 - very reliable, not quite as fast as a Halo (only a problem if you are REALLY quick on the trigger), lids break easy but cheaper than a Halo

Currently using a Halo for no reason other than the fact that it matches my gun best :D

EGG

HALO= APPROX £105.00
EGG= APPROX £67.00( CLEAR)

HALO IS HEAVY COMPAIRED TO EGG BUT YOU CAN USE 9V BATTERY TO MAKE IT LIGHTER.
UNLESS YOU SHOOTING 18-20 PER SEC GET AN EGG.

Nick,

A halo plus 6AA batterys plus paint plus an extra £35.00= A BRICK
on top of your gun that costs a lot more than an egg.
ok it feeds faster but if you can't out shoot an egg why get a halo?

Is the same weight pretty much as an evo 2 full of paint.

See this thread HERE!

The advantage of being able to shoot just as fast at all angles is big also.

There must be some reason why 7 out of 8 teams in the NXL use Halo's... even though they aren't sponsored to! Oh and the only team not to use Halo's are Trauma... because they are sponsored to use the Evolution...

When they played the Ironmen at X-ball with ineffect the same guns, the difference in firepower on the Ironmen's side was very noticeable!

As Nick said, do NOT use 9V's with the Halo.

I've never been impressed with the feeding of the Eggs. Sure, in drop tests they are faster than a revvy, but in actual use (with a non-vision impy in my case) I have to be just as restrained on the trigger as when I'm using a revvy (and no, my fingers aren't that fast - I shoot maybe 14bps when I get my rhythm going, maybe the odd double-tap works out faster than that.) With a Halo, I never have to worry, I can just rip on the trigger and not worry about a thing. Reliability has been a big problem with Halos though, now I always carry my old revvy as a back up just in case.
