Qualifications

I have worked all over the world, a Finance Degree, an MBA, languages, lots of professional/post grad stuff and most importantly lots of experience (yes, I'm getting on a bit).

I run a couple of companies and prefer the "qualified by experience" types. Qualifications are mainly pants, they open the door but don't keep it open.

Must say that it doesn't help our image to see the state of some of the spelling/grammar around, shokking ;)

I quite agree. Both as far as the spelling is concerned, and the qualifications bit. (like I said, I've met people with degrees coming out of their ears, who were still too thick for words)
As someone I know once said: You will not be judged by your diplomas, but by your scars.

Well...

10 GCSEs (3 As, 5 Bs & 2 Cs)
3 A Levels ( 2 Cs & 1 E (maths))
1 A/S leve (C (French))
1 Degree in Biochemistry

Too much time spent in IT for a healthy mind, including an "I survived BT certificate"

I should have a death certificate somewhere as well, but as it was only for about 5 seconds, the doc wouldn't give me one. A shame, if I'd had that, I would have been able to get my student loans wiped out.

I've also got experience of the entire 3Com product range, Unix, Linux, Windows (all versions), Sun hardware, PC hardware, Cisco kit, X.25, "normal" cabling, VMS & Vax Hardware, HTTP, Perl, Apache, Squid, DNS (& BIND) and software testing.

Currently I look after the .GG & .JE ccTLDs.

And if anyone on the mainland has a spare sysadmin job going, I get back mid June. Please!!!

Oh yes, I also have a bronze swimming certificate and the RAF marksmanship award.

Talk about having too much time on your hands.

You got that right CROOKED-POPO...

The person holding all these pieces of paper saything they are smart might not be able to tune a car or change a light bulb. Common sense is lacking in a lot of these so called SMART people! But hey they hold a piece of paper telling me they are smart! LOL Nothing against any of you here with all the time you spent in school getting what you have. Just have come across some real stupid people with degrees is all!:D

Hey!

I can change a lightbuld! I can also tune a car, take differentials apart, re-wire cars, do plumbing, cook, decorate, plaster and sequence DNA.

I also did a lot of radiobiology and radiophysics in Germany, but I don't like to talk about that.

An island in the rain
Jeeze - so many computer nerds, ahem, I mean what a large number of well educated people with vast amounts of knowledge about electronics and ICT!

Well..I managed to scrape 8 A's and 2 A*'s for my GCSE's and I'm currently working on some A-Levels. (I like the letter 'A' :D )

I'll report back to this thread a couple of years down the road and perhaps I can add a few more qualifications to my list and perhaps add a few letters to the begging and end of my name so I can fool my employers into thinking I'm well clever so they give me some super fat paychecks at the end of each month! :D He he he...hopefully that employer will be someone like WDP or a similarly amzing company that rakes in ****e loads of cash from poor, unsuspecting people like us just so we can inflict painful bruises upon ourselves weekly or as we please!

I can ski, snowboard (badly), fly a plane (once it's in the air!) and drive a car (wohooo! Hey, it's a big deal when ure 16!)
Oh oh oh - I can also and pat my head & rub my tummy at the same time!! - Now I've never me a brainless thug that can do that! - It require some serious skill! :p
