i agree with you Fuzzy. The thing is that the Uk is too diluted in terms of playing ability. There are a few guys who are very good players, like Tommy from Nexus, Sanchez the gypsy and Kyle from Shock. Trouble is that they are all on different teams.

Take a few of the best guys, 8 players from the top teams in the UK and with the right training and backing they could be up there with the best.

Not all of the 'best players' in the uk wanted to play for Nexus. It takes more than a few extra free paintballs for training to make some players overlook the more political issues they may have had, such as loyalty to their own, etc etc...

If a UK team got a serious money sponsor, im sure it'd be very different.....and there wouldn't be a problem in attracting and retaining the very best....

not to mention at the end of the day America still has 10 times the population of the UK to choose from. as well as the prices of kit over there being substantially more affordable for little 13 year old Johnny's new speed 05 etc. ($995US = £520 or £795 here in UK)

point is it is cheaper for them (or mummy and daddy) to get into the sport, therefore they do it younger, and by the time they hit 16,17,18 years old they have already got a few years experience under their belts. where here in the UK, most serious players are only starting their paintballing careers at 16 ish.

Sounds like a case of someone taking themselves just a tiny bit too seriously to me. But i guess that's part of what makes them so good. Still being able to laugh at one's self isn't an ability that everyone has
