Just finished watching the whole thing (which probably makes me the only one besides Mag....)

Unfortunately nothing I didn't know yet. Not a bad docu though. It does point out the "flavoured" way the US media tends to work, something I found out during the 9/11 aftermath when I spoke to some of my friends in New York.

For those interested in the whole Palestinian/Isreali conflict, a recommended read: The Brigade by Howard Blum. Non fictional book about a Jewish brigade (all from Palestine) that served in the British army in WW2. Though written by a Jewish man, it is remarkably factuous and unbiased. It clearly shows that it is easy to go from being the victim (as the Jewish people were under the Nazis) to being the victimizer.

I've watched about half of this, and it seems that the Palestine population of the west bank and gaza strip are getting a rough deal.
Surely the problem goes way back to some time when either israel or palestine originally occupied the country.
Obviously israel has the idea that these two areas are their property, and when you look at a map it would look like that was the way it would have been.
Without going back into history to find out, does anyone have a better idea who's got more right to the two areas.

There is simply no objective answer to that Tom.

Bottom line is that innocent people are getting hurt on both sides and both sides have factions in them that behave abominably. However, the western media does tend to portray Israel as a legitimite state being attacked by terrorist agressors...the whole 'one man's terrorist is another man's freedom fighter' maxim has never been more aptly applied than to this situation, and while I have huge sympathies with the Israeli people, their government has behaved atrociously and is every bit as bad, if not worse, than the 'terrorists' it fights and I think if I was a Palestinian I would have few qualms in taking up arms against the Israeli military.

One thing i remember as i grew up was the PLO. So i assume this was when Isreal first occupied Palestine.
Who do you side with, Palestine who have had their homes and land taken from them, or Israel who feel they are the rightful owners of the land.
It makes me wonder whether there is a some other interested party funding the Palestinians, as this has escalated recently. Or does it just look this way from the media coverage.

I think many people would claim that the ideological battle between the US and the Arab world (or how certain factions of the US administration perceive the Arab world) is being fought by proxy in Palestine, and now lebanon.
