Aint no Sup Air site in Edinburgh I'm afraid. Believe one of the owners of an Edinburgh site has a Sup Air field but he doesn't use it for punters, punters want to play woodsball.

It would make more sense, if you ran a north and a south series, then after say 8 events had a grand final, with the winners from both competing for a U.K. title.
this was my point frm the start

anyway it would involve too much effort for the $outherners to even contemplate....they're happy with what they have so theres no incentive to change

we are jus stuk with travelling

gaz i agree with ya, i used to do autocross, and how that worked was each club or in our case (site) would host an event, so for example one month it could be saac hosting at marlish in morpeth or scotch corner, dv8 at darlington ?, etc etc etc and those teams that do not have sup fields etc could lend em off other teams to hold an event, everyone helps each other out ? works very well in autocross / rallycross, but that said i must add, no one bothered theyre arse if they lived below manchester "bit like this sport innit" peeps think that england ends at manchester ! if bullys brought some events up north ie newcastle / scottland, i would bet my lil finger that teams south of manchester would not show, "too far to travel boo hoo" and this balls about it being colder every event at the PA i got wet and v cold ?

Series Organiser

As a series organiser I must be the guilty one who does not organise events north of the M62.

Just to add a few points into the discussion.

It is very easy to organise an event until you have to do it !!! It is simplified in the previous postings, basically - "find a plot of land, rent a marquee, hire some toilets, borrow a supair field or two and tournie done!!" I wish it was as easy as that - I might make it look easy but I put a lot of work into an event before you even arrive to play.

Gary from SAAC is correct to mention the events at Scotch Corner, since we came out of the woods onto supair fields I have organised two events at Paintball Pursuits. Why did the venue get dropped - simple the attendance was low. OK so here we go - it was all the "Southern" teams (teams from the M62 - Birmingham) who dropped out - wrong the LOCAL teams did not support the event as well as some of the southern teams not travelling.

Are the venues available north of the M62 ? - not to my knowledege but if there is I would be prepared to put a leg of the Series 2005 at the venue assumming it met the criteria.

Food for thought !!

Steve

:) :)

If you want an organiser to run and manage a 5 man event I would be prepared to do it BUT you need to find the venues and ensure the infra structure is in place!!

never said it would be easy, but if something raises a challenge, should we not try to pull TOGETHER and try this... bully not having a pop at you, as it says in the post, "if bully put on a tourny" not saying that you 8nt coz you cant, it is more of a reference to southern teams not travelling, yet northerners do, also at the time you are refeering, how many northern teams were there, i dont know as this was before my time, but iam sure there was very very few. i do agree with what you are saying at the end of the day it has to be worth while for you otherwise the logistics would be endured for nowt. i deffo agree with the infra structure side ie parking / bogs / pit area / shedules etc etc this would have to be delegated to the host . marlish would be a good one gaz, if andy and glen were willing : ) but the tarmac carpark 8nt laid yet.

cheers rich

Not bad 27 teams at the event and I think it was limited paint. I would be happy with 27 teams at an event.

Incidentally, on the travelling front, players who are a little older will remember the North Triple Crown series, plus the NBP series. We held legs at Premier Paintball in Hexham and at the NPG site north of Newcastle, they were well attended but these were the only two series held north of Birmingham so teams had to play them. Teams attending the NTC included the Vulcans, Mayhem Tigers, True Colors (Sweden), Grasshoppers (Belgium) Patricks team in Belgium (Can't remember their name) plus many more, so teams did travel years ago!! Lots more choice now so they don't have to travel as far.
