no? Oh well ...

Kidding ....

Do you guys think the Extra features of the IR3 are worth the extra money? Is an LCD a better Value?

Should I keep putting $ into my cocker if I'm going to buy an angel this summer? If themeaning of life is 42 ... what was the question? wasnt it "what is the meaning of life"?

As you can see, I'm very confused ...

Well, I think that the benefits of an IR3 benefit a back player most specifically, so if that's your position then go for it. There's nothing at all wrong with an LCD, and you have the advantage of those being available at used prices. I'm even shooting an LED right now myself and honestly when I'm actually on the field I don't feel like I'm missing much of anything! Oh, and I still shoot my Cocker as well, so as far as your question about the Cocker, well, if it's shooting well then leave it as it is. Too many people try to overthink and overupgrade Cockers when they're just putting money where it won't be felt. If a Cocker works well consistently then don't mess with it. That's a simple cardinal rule to follow.

Hey Micah there are a couple of things that an IR3 does that an LCD doesn't but the one thing I can see that would benefit most players is the IR3 will tell you when a part requires replacing! The other thing is the 3 different Trigger positions. But as far as I am concerned once you start shooting an LCD you would get used to the trigger why make it more complicated? Have you ever heard the term K.I.S.S.? "Keep it simple stupid!" Why would WDP make it harder for the average guy to find a happy spot on his or her trigger? Oh sorry I was rambling on.

RoOsTer - I completely agree with your comment about KISS.
I use an old Angel not LCD, LED, nothing. People try it then look for the display all the time, quite funny the confused looks sometimes. Still shoots fast & accurate (with the right barrel), and with my lack of technical knowledge & skills that's the way I like it. The more sophisticated the marker is, the more there is to go wrong IMHO.
Yes of course I would like nice new shiny toys sometimes, I'm a total poser when it comes to stuff like that. But splashing out that kind of dosh on something that has more electronic stuff & therefore more chance to go wrong when I can't fix it? I have enough problems owning a poser car that I can't service myself:eek:

sorry to go bursting anyones bubble but...

The IR3 is actually more accurate than both the LCD and LED. Obviously there isnt much difference between these markers if were talking about that first ball fired. But we all want that second, 3rd..etc ball to be just as accurate as the first. This is where the ir3 comes on top.
Because of the new design of the hammer setup, grip design and trigger, the recoil of the gun is very very small. The grip allows you to get a much firmer hold of the gun and is further forward making it much more balanced. The trigger can now be adjusted at 3 points making it highly sensitive and ensuring that the motion of pulling the trigger dosnt disrupt your aim.
The shot-shot accuracy of the ir3 has been tested against the lcd and led and believe me the difference is supprising........the chances are that if the first ball hit.....the second ones gonna follow!

How does it do that with magic fairies or AGD elves? seriously though as long as your marker is consistant and you can hold it steady then shot to shot accuracy will me as good as anything else.
When you say they tested it against the LED and LCD how? did they benchmount them or what?

Paul.

The ir3 makes 'being accurate' easier because of the way you can hold the gun. Obviously any good gun is accurate shot-shot if you bolt it down, but humans get tired arms etc etc so its shot-shot accuracy when a person is using the gun that counts.
If a marker has kick back for example, however small it may be, each time the gun fires the kickback will move your aim. That means that before firing your second shot you have to either re-adjust your aim or just fire again regardless, the led did have a small amount of kickback and the difference is very noticeable.
The design of the ir3 basically gives a smaller chance of your aim moving off after a shot, and you can hold the gun steady in comfort rather than squeezing it tight for the whole game when you could be thinking about whatever your job is on the field.

And those magic fairies work hard!

So in conclusion the IR3, in its operation alone is no more accurate then either the LED or LCD, its all down to the user! :p
