If the refs had not done this, those 300fps plus shots would have been hurtled at the other team. Not good.

Make sure your gun is a safe one, or get off the field. Plain and simple.
Word!

there's no excuse for creeping regs these days - plenty of people sell excellent in-lines that don't creep:)

Of course safty is paramount, but to have the ultimate say 10 seconds guns down all in the same breath, is we feel a little unfair, barely any of us had a chance to clear our guns.
I am not going to get into a childish my guns better then yours argument, it is enough to say that it was unfair, enough people saw and heard this happen, even Generation x offered to help with our complaint.

Nick I was running my gun at 280 all weekend, we havent got a problem with the rule, its just that to have your guns sitting there for 15 odd minuits then not giving us a chance to clear is unfair.
Our team are so incenced with this we are now talking about not competing in this series anymore.
This is twice now, that we feel this particular marshall has made this personal over two different tournaments.

actually you can shoot your gun into the ground as soon as the head judge says 'barrel socks off'. You would have had ample time to take a clearing shot.

If it is Scutty you are talking about, then i can vouch for him being an impartial judge. Scutty knows the rules, and is not afraid to apply them. I respect that immensely.

If you felt that it is personal and that he was trying to screw you, then maybe you should have taken extra care not to give him any grounds to. But knowing Scutty as i do, i know that he is not out to screw anyone, not even the French!

Scutty will have done it all by the rules, i dont see what the problem was, if i was at the other end of the field, and the other team had been caught with hot guns i would have been pleased the judges had dont thier jobs.

maybe the solution is not to leave you guns in the sun, (Not that it was that hot anyway), and adhere to the rules to the letter, and not allow anyone to penalise you for anything.

I don't think that it was targeted at you, because the same thing happened to us (Div.2-Imperia). We had a "guns down" against a German team on that field. We lost 2 and they lost one. After we chrono'd, our guns sat for about 15 minutes and we lost an Angel and a Cocker, both of which chrono'd between 280 and 290. Nobody's fault really. They were both only hot on the first shot at 301 and 302, with the other two shots being under 300.

I do think that the first ball after a 15 minute wait being the one that disqualifies a player is a bit severe, but rules are rules. Then again, if you fire off a few balls as soon as your barrel bag comes off, it shouldn't be a problem.

We had this happen at Toulouse and Portugal last year. We saw it happen to the Russians, Strange, and Dynasty at Toulouse as well. Strange and the Russians played short in their games.
