I don't think Laurent will give up July, I think it has already been suggested and tried by the Danish Millenium promoters....

Double Standards?

I think Hatts was referring more to a guy playing for one team (that he's registered with) in the prelims then turning out for a different team in the semis the next day!
Hatts/Liz,

I Fully agree with you.. I think players should be limited in which teams they can play for and I'm glad to see that you do... A higher division player can easily control or even win games for us lower division teams which some might feel is unfair....

However, if this is your opinion then what about the Last 2k2 event at Nottingham where the 6E Chicks, a Division E team, recruited the services of one of the Killer Clowns, a Division A team, who almost single handedly won them several games and boosted them to a 3rd place slot.

Isn't that the same scenario?

Hi Si

There are specific rules in the Millennium series about playing for different teams and very strict conditions laid down about transfers between teams, have a look at the relevant section in the rules on the Millennium site.

BTW, at Nottingham it was a case of using the Clowns or going out short of players right up until we managed to borrow a gun for a novice guy with us. Didn't notice any complaints about Storm Birds using a couple of pro standard players when they won the division at Wakefield.

I've never read any of the millenium rules (don't even know where to get them from), and I was unaware of the same situation with the stormBirds at Wakefield... I'm sure there are several teams that have done the same thing, probably not with the intention of winning but like the chicks, with the intention of not playing a man (or woman) down.

I was just wondering what peoples thoughts on the situation are.. should other events adopt a similar rule to the Millenium series?, or are people happy with players guesting for other teams from any division?

Anyway, we're digressing from the point of this thread so I'll stop now.....

:D

Can you guys amd gals help clear something up for me .

A guy from my team played with a pro team at mayhem ( we are novice ), is it all good if he plays for us at campaign, he is not a pro player he was just helping out as some people on this team had a few injured guys from another recent tourny.

Back on track

Just to get back to DMA for a while !

While it is true the scheduling left alot to be desired as much blame should lie with the 2 teams who pulled out and the teams who didt show ON THE DAY. Due to the nature of the millenium & NPPL/PSP (whatever) shedule system its not just a case of moving teams around. It has to be done from scratch, at 6pm when teams don't turn up and register.

The scaffolding can partially be blamed on the contractors who put them up first off. A marshal I spoke to said they raised this point to the scaffolders to no avail and as the site was set up by just 9 guys something was gona give. (the fact staff were thin on the groud / scaffold contract can be directed at the organisation tho.

Everything else whent fine tho and even tho half the refreshment stands were collapsed you can clearly see the potential as personaly I found the general lay out & fields were excelent, except........

Stageing area, come on steve, I looked at the 5 day forcast mon & knew it was gona rain !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Food will always be expensive we're a captive audiance (been to silverstone laterly !) but there was a Mc's 3 mins off site !!!

Toilets, It's normal to pay on the contanent, coffee shops, service stations etc many request a donation, no one enforcewd payment tho !

Hotels, we booked ours 1 week before the event. It was 10 min away, good food & bar and happy to see us. (No I'm not saying where we want to book it next year !)

Transport, no one forced anyone to go by coach, keep it cheep expect some compramises !

Overall I enjoyed it. Whilst no one can deny there were problems the site has potential and I'm sure steve and his team will learn from the problems for next year !

Think that will do for now
