Owned both, had a Ego08 first, fantastic stock trigger, easy to use board, really good feeling gun in the hands.

Bought the DM8 about 3 months down the line from the date that I got the Ego08, shot flawlessly, i was fo some unknown reason winning snap shootings more regularly... perhaps i was getting better, but the double stacked tube design makes the ego a little less easier to sight as the top stack is offset forward.

I understand what Mello is saying in post #3 because the sound of that hammer knocking out paint is incredable, they sound brillient and give you the feeling that you'v achieved something with every ball you shoot. BUT the further along timewise that i'v been playing i'v found the DM8 to be the better of the two guns.
Contrary to what others have said in the past about DM's been difficult to maintain this is not at all true, I always clean my guns after every weekends training and have NEVER had a problem with them.

There is little differance in reliability although I would say the Ego's the good choice if you can't be bothered to look after you kit, i'v seen people drag these trhough muddy rainy days, throw them in their bag and use them the next time round a couple weeks down the line with the mud, paint and crap still all over them, yuck! :p

Price range, DM8's have been selling for around £370ish and Ego08's have been hitting the £400 mark, for £30 pound differance theres very little in it, although i'd get the dm again ;)

I'd say the ego.

For me all I care about in a gun is a trigger, barrel, feedneck, and the grips.

If I could smelt an ego trigger onto a DM8 i would have the DM8, its just that I love ego triggers...

you have just completely contradicted yourself there mate by saying it being difficult/pain in the ass to maintain but you clean yours after every event may it be training or otherwise?????????

but shall agree with you on everything you have said.

blinket - i have had both of these gats.

dm8 wins on accuracy hands down as for how quite it actually is well dm8 is nigh on silent only thing i dont like about it is how the front reg feels when holding it but thats just my opion (no flaming me). as for having flashing lights on it, it always catches the corner of my eye and i get distracted by it lol little harder to use then the oled/screen gats. trigger for me not great but then i have been using PE for the last year or so.

as for the ego accuracy by volume is always great :D got to love it. scares the **** out of people as you are running towards them mugging them out. i love the feel of the ego when it sits in my hands as for the trigger well its the easiest thing to use in the world that also goes for the setting up of the gun its self with the screen its so easy as you can see the name of the things you are entering and move back/forwards between options.

as has been stated and you will already know with having the pm7 that you must give the dm8 a good clean after each event for it to work smooth for you next time where as with the ego8 i never clean that bad boy i had it serviced by a planet tech and there was mouldy paint in the eye plates, rammer and all sorts but it still worked fine as good as when i got it.

so concullsion if you want ease get the ego if not and like the to take time with your gear get the dm

both gats have pro's and con's so it all comes back to personal preferance.

i have not used the dm8 but ive had all the egos upto 07 and all the dms upto 07 and in my experience which obviousley will vary to others i have never had to take the bolt out of any of these guns while im playing so its only ever maintenance off the field which is only an issue if you play xball really or raceto which then time could come into the matter but aslong you take ten minutes at the end of the day just to clean your bolt system on the dms and leave the outside muddy as i will still work perfect next time you use it hope this is helpful
