I agree that what you say makes some sense but the poitn is that they have had wrestlers and random other sports on there and the soul aim for them again was to cause pain, the viewers who liek paintball can apprietiate the fine shot skills and technique of phil ham ex world champion paitnballer. For people who dont even know what paintball is maybe they will now take an interest even if just for a stag party at there local site. Remember how most of us got started went to our local sites, or worked on a local site then got hjooked. All it takes is a few people to get interested and book a day at there site where the marshalls and organisers can reveal the truth behind the sport we love.
So i can understand your argument but i think it would be better to look at the big picture. Th eonly very Naive peopl ewho will think that pain is the only idea of paintball (well it is part of it you gotta admit being mugged from 1/2 inch bloody hurts) should just be forgotten as they will have the same views if thye take walk to a local site, to a professionally fun tournament or even if they see a dvd about how great paintball is they will still have the sam enarrow minded view and hese people should just be ignored.

It only takes a few ill informed who speak with their feet to get somthing banned.
The whole idea of the game is for someone to inflict pain to distract the contestants. . .
It truly doesn't sound like that can be good for the sport, it hard enough for rental sites to keep schools, colleges and youth groups coming in - because one person sees something on tv that seems a little off, or hears one of those exagerated horror stories - and then *wow* ALL paintball days are banned!
This did not help exposure for paintball - it hindered the new alternative sport image!!
I'm sorry to hear that money was a factor in choosing to go ahead with distraction. If all paintball parks and professional are not careful in choosing how and where we are protrayed in the media we might aswell all hang in the towel now!

also are they gonna ban wheel barrow races? (well I think they should ban the Naked old people wheel barrow races any) what about picking up mouse traps? or eating things
ok ok Im getting stupid now but it's not going to be like ur trying to make out man. they will not ban paintball because people got shot by paintball guns to cause pain. they could have walked away and not played!!!
if on the other hand the show was about people going in to town to shoot people who had no safety equipment and to be totally stupid/careless then yes paintball will be banned.
the show is just basicly showing that paintball can hurt, theres no stopping it. but there was addequit safety used on this show.

Many rental parks take safety, insurance, and image in the media very seriously. . . . . .
Surrey County Council has banned paintball activities days for schools based on the short comings of one particular chain of paintball parks.
I think thats a fair indication that the county is ill informed about the sport.
I can guarentee at least one person from the council saw Distraction. . .

Dont be stupid.....do u honestly think someone from the council will have watched it!!! 1st'ly the council are so dull and boring (not really but bare with me) due to them not wanting to allow people to play extreme sports, that they wouldnt even watch Distraction!
