Those of you who haven't seen it, its a dark humoured, pain induced game show, hosted by comedien Jimmy Carr.

Contestants have to answer questions while being distracted by some sought of pain, i.e. electric shocks, wrestled, eating nasty things, or being shot by a paintball from 30 yards......ouch!

Bit like fearfactor meats 50 to 1:p but much better, its made by the same peeps that created trigger happy tv and Ali G.

Must see programme:D :D :D

Plus nearer Xmas Phil gets to shoot big brother contestants in a celebrity special...........how unfair!;)

WolfPac,

I'm removing some of your posts in order to keep this thread on track and encourage other people to contribute. See the forums rulez on use of PMs and telephones or even pubs for chats.

I'll throw this thought in anyway. Although I can see the concept behind the game show, but isn't the use of paintball markers to inflict pain for other peoples merriment getting a little old hat and passé? I mean half of you lot whine about getting paintball the recognition you all crave, but do you think we should sell-out to the next Jackass, Dirty Sanchez reality TV clone there is out there? It's hardly the "sporting" recognition a lot of you want. I'm sure it was nice and safe, but it's just paintball markers on TV, not paintball being played.

I'm not knocking those involved cos hey I'll bet most of us would go on TV and shoot fools especially if we were getting paid (I'd even hit people with Samurai swords for cash but that's another story), but it does appear to be attention for attentions sake? I mean we don't want to be the Jodie Marsh's of the extreme sports world do we?

just a thought...........

Cow,

Sorry if you felt it was on topic, the point unfortunately is that a lot of threads get spammed up, and your post was amougst a lot of it. Feel free to re-post. It would be nice for any posters to feel they can contribute to a thread without it getting lost between a few individuals having a general chit chat (not necesarily WolfPac).

But you can see how easy sometimes pertinent comments can get lost.

Views on Distraction, or the perception of paintball in the wider media are welcome.......

What site rented the equipment??

I'm sorta curious what site oversaw the show?

Campaign turned down this show.

We have recently done 'Bo Selecta!', 'T4's Popworld', 'Judgement Day', 'Family Affairs' and FASH FC

Cheers!

As an explanation of what happened in the show, Two contendants stood side by side in overalls and masks. A man (phill) armed with a paintbal marker (angel LED/LCD) stood 10 yards in front of them.

They were then asked questions, and if they got the question right, the other contestant would be shot in a location chosen by the presenter. If they got the question wrong, they themselves would be shot.

The first person to 5 correct answers got a new mini as a prize.

I felt that this was not a good way to prtray paintball to the public, as the paintball marker was used purely to inflict pain, and the word 'paintball' was never used, they just said 'you will be shot by this gun'. There was no mention that paintball was a sport or even a recreational activity and there were references to paintballers being military wanabees.

yep true great show and all but somethin cuda been done to make paintball seem more user friendly and not just somethin used to cause pain. And im sure those contestants put it on a bit as paintballs don't hurt that much :D
