you couldt post it as an "open source" ranking and somebody who has nuff time can break the ties. game scores can be found @ pblivescores
That's not the problem - it is that pblivescores only posts E/D - not actual game scores - and without the game scores, it is impossible to break ties where the E/D is the same - which is true for about 10 teams in the mix.

Nick you can work out the scores by using the ED.

Its like this CPL:
0 | -5 vs 1 | 5 = 0 – 5
1 | 4 vs 0 | -4 = 5 – 1
0 | -3 vs 1 | 3 = 2 – 5

SPL:
1 | 2 vs 0 | -2 = 4 – 2
1 | 4 vs 0 | -4 = 4 – 0
0 | -3 vs 1 | 3 = 1 – 4

The losing team (one with negative ed) would have gained the following game points:

ED: Game pts won CPL: Game pts won SPL:
-5 0
-4 1 0
-3 2 1
-2 3 2
-1 4 3

The team with the positive ED would have 5 game pts to make it the win or 4 game pts if SPL, this could get confusing if the time had run out before getting to 5 or 4 but I’m sure there must be a way of recognizing this and working out the score at time e.g. when the score was 2 -2, 4 - 3 etc.

Hope that wasn’t to confusing :D

What i dont know is when the final points and ED are equal what is the next step to determine who finished above who??? Does it go to highest win, first games points etc etc.

Giles:

Point is this:

LOADS of teams have same game points and same E/D

Like for 22nd place, 3 teams are at 1/-1

So, to further break that tie, you need to know what their actual game scores are, because the next tiebreaker after E/D, is game points won in the round (of 3 prelim games)..... and "-1" can be obtained with any number of different game points won in their 3 prelims games.

- and there in lies the rub ;)

Yes tie break is the problem as I stated before, but surely there must be a way of recognising if it’s a draw ?? or do you just get 0pts each and 0ED ?? I’m not to sure on that note.

And nick what I’ve just explained isn’t for the overall points/ED score these are for individual games, so that you are able to work out the points of those games.

For example you games are shown on pblivescores as shown on left and my conversions for the actual game score is on the right of them:

0 | -1 vs 1 | 1 = 3pts – 4pts - Cadets
0 | -1 vs 1 | 1 = 3pts – 4pts - Blackout
1 | 1 vs 0 | -1 = 4pts – 3pts - Crossfire
1 | 3 vs 0 | -3 = 4pts – 1pts - Disruption
0 | -1 vs 1 | 1 = 3pts – 4pts - Dagnir Dae

Are these game scores correct? If so then my system works for them except when tied. So you should be able to get a perfect game score for all games that finished with a team getting to 5 or 4 depending on division

The last 2 games ended as far as I remember 3-0 and 2-4 (or maybe 2-3 if Dagnir Dae didn't press the buzzer?)? But I might be mistaken.... So your system isn't all bulletproof! ;)

Im sure disruption won the first game meaning if it didnt go to time then i must have been a 4 - 1 win and if the game against dagnir went to time as they didnt press the buzzer then that is where it gets a little hard as said before. Ties and games running out will be hard to work out the exact score.

But for those games that went to a win it will work for and to be far i dont think there were too many games that was a tie or the time ran out.

Giles:

An E/D for a game of 1 can be a 1-0, 2-1, 3-2 and 4-3 score - and as the number of points scored in the round (of 3 matches) is the next tiebreaker - and there is no way of knowing who scored how many points in each match, I cannot do the draw until the actual game scores are published :)

No - first point went to UD since Disruption got a gun penalty.....

Don't get why we even discuss this - to me it seems kinda ridicilous working out a draw for next tournament, which may very well be totally wrong since the game scores are incorrect? ;)
