I love it,

The D7 organisers try and offer something a little different and off the bat people start the "woe is me" attitude. Look at the teams playing the D7s and virtually all are either novice or AmB standard. How you start commenting on how unfair this is to have AmBs and Novices playing of for prize money is beyond me. All teams are beatable on the day, and by seeding the division it does give the lower ability teams a bit of a crack at the prize money. If offering prize money increases the level of competition at an event, surely this will in time have a beneficial effect on UK ball?

Going out and playing better teams is one way of leaning, and also indicates where you need to practice / improve elements of your game. I watched Severe Australia (with DS guesting for them), in the Dam at the week-end, and despite getting a bit of a bashing in the X-Ball division, at least they had a go and earned some respect, not least of all learnt a lot about the level of the game. They've probably played more against Dynasty in one X Ball match than most UK teams and players ever will. They certainly made us play them very hard.

You don't have to win the money to gain something from an event, the reward could be the improvement in your game. The monies an incentive to play harder, and be more competitive so why don't you give it a go?
I think a bit of a bashing is probably an under-statement, but it was all good fun, X-Ball is a brilliant game. Dave:cool:
