I was marshalling once with a metal whistle round my neck, i had to go too my knees so i wouldnt get shot, the whistle was hanging right by my nuts, it got shot and was pushed into my nuts, and i mean IN TO. That brought tears to my eyes, just thinking about the cold steel makes me sick

To be honest, it just comes with any sport. I mean, I'd guess that cricket players get injuries too, spraining the pinkie when drinking high tea or something?

yeah

Totaly, but what i find cool, is that each sport has injuries specific to them. In paintball we got guys gettin shot in tender areas, reckin' their shoulders and all kinds of other crazy sh*t (can i swear?). Also the stories that come with them are so much more flamboyant and full of character, that you just gotta look back at them and have a laugh.

man if i got a quarter for every time i got shot in the ball's, id have a **** loada quarters :(

later:cool:

Two paintball injuries to date but based on my record in other sports bound to have doubled by april. Number one then.

Got the angle of my slide wrong on a soggy wet supair pitch, slid past the baracade with the exception of my left bum cheek, witch with quite painfull results got stuck on the metal peg securing the bunker to the floor. Lots of steri strips needed to hold the six inch gash together (sitting was a problem for about three weeks).

Four weeks ago playing at a local site ran to the bunker on the 50. Back player called the oppo as being in the 30 so went to bunker him. Only problem was he was crouched in the same 50 as me and as I stepped round he shot me from 3ft or so in the knackers. Blood, swelling and a whole lot of pain. Luckily i was wearing some paded shorts otherwise I hate to think of what they may have looked like.

Having said that paintball injuries are far from the worst I have seen. That accolade actually goes to some of the cricket injuries I have seen.

appart from the obvious welts and bruises i wouldnt say ive ever picked up anything major paintballing.....

got a few scars on my back from a rather impressive mugging (at a walkon)....put that was ok as i got him first :)
couple of scars on my hands from playing with no gloves, not that you can tell im a chef and my hands are covered in small scars from burns and cuts
other than that just the usuall stuff you pick up from nails hanging out of bunkers etc and the odd twisted ankle/knee from rabbit holes

did see one chap snap his knee at an ote walk on once, he looked rather pale and decided that strapping it up and having a brew and a fag wasnt going to help, he was taken to a and e looking rather unhappy

Worst injusry I have had is when i was marshalling @ our site Bear, I was runnin towards Brian to give wee Scotty Co2, I went over on my left ankle and heard my bone crack (so did Brian who was about 20 feet away) I hit the deck straight away, right in the middle of all the punters durin their game lol.

I then sat down for a while and when the punters left i got back up and started helping shift pallets around the site (dedication for u eh!!!) Then instead of going to hospital, i did a Big Sid and went to the pub for a beer with the boys.
Hardie dropped me off at the hospital, I waited 8 hours on a Sat night to find out I had been hobblin about on a fractured ankle, I had fractured it in 3 places i think.

Bloody thing still clicks when i walk sumtimes lol :D

I took a nad shot once back in my punter days. As luck would have it, it was the only day when I've played paintball without a box (cup to you colonials over the pond ;)). I fell to my kness, puked through my mask, then crawled off the field and rolled around on the sidelines whilst trying to count how many balls I had in the sack.

At a woodland tourney - Dragon's Lair in the UK - I tripped and headbutted a tree stump, which didn't do my senses any good at all, although my team claimed that my level of BS was the same so they couldn't tell the difference! :D
