Custom Team Egos - why so much?

Ok, so i was just looking on planet, and happen to notice that the nexus and XSV egos are 250 squid more than the standard 06 My question is, why so much? And the warped is a full £300 more!

So do you really get that extra £250 worth? Because at the end of the day, they cost like pretty much the same amount of money to make as the standard guns; the different milling doesn't cost anything more than the normal for planet to do, the colours don't, so why oh why?

Apart from the team label, is it worth it? And before someone says the nexus bolt is better, they don't cost £250 either

i think you will find that is does cost planet more to have the milling done,it takes more time to do and nothing is free you know

Low run stuff is worth more - why do you think the French AOC wine classification system limits the amount of wine that can be grown from a plot. Premier Cru Chablis is rare, and therefore expensive. Team label Armolites are rare, and therefore expensive.

Besides anything else, the milling on an XSV takes far longer than a stock one - the man above knows more than anyone.

What do you expect - a free lunch?

Thats up to us the buyers, but yes it will cost more to make an XSV,NEXUS or any other private label marker.

Take a look at the milling on a stock 05 or 06 EGO then take a look at at a NEXUS or XSV an try to imagine how many more directions you need to be able to mill from in order to make the PL/Team bodies.
It's the difference between being able to use a 4 axis cnc or having to use a 5 axis machine. Now when you have a shop full of 4 axis machines and only one 5 axis machine you have to charge a premium on the work from that machine otherwise everyone will want one.

The difference in cost fom stock to PL is probably a few pounds but if you wanted to drop the stock model and only make bodies with say NEXUS milling you now have one capable machine with all the others requiring a £40,000 5th axis.

Ye i agree, the milling takes alot longer than the standard 05 or 06, if u look at the angels, if u buy an arsenal g7 it costs an extra £50-£70, its the same they need to take longer on them.

Yer, an extra £50 - 100, thats pretty reasonable, but £250??!!

i guarantee you its worth it. The amount of time that has gone into the R&D of that gat, the amount of milling that it has gone into it alone makes it worth it.

Planet never do things by halfs. And like they say its the 'integra type r or m3csl' of their markers. It pwns...

also this is radically different to what WDP have done. Wdp just change the milling slightly whereas this is a total redesign and new board.

I was going to say that they have to recoup alot in R&D costs.
I'd like to know how much longer the custom bodies take over the stock, as I wouldn't have thought it to be toooo much more (correct me if im wrong anybody in the know) as the stock bodies aren't exactly a flat slab of metal themselves.

When you ask is it worth the extra 250squids, you have to ask yourself why you would buy that XSV over the stock body?

Its not like those few grams are really going to make you run faster or anything, its all about us ballers and our vanities! But so long as people want to look pimp and emulate their heroes on XSV/Nexus, Planet will continue to make them and earn their keep!
