No offence, and I am sure you are honest enough, But I don't belive it. I will not believe it until I see it. Please understand, I don't like calling anyone a liar, but the phenomenon you describe is as likely as a car running without a transmission for 10 miles.

I am not comfortable calling anyone a liar at all; were you dry firing? Was there paint coming out? This doesn't seem possible at all.

Also: how, if this is real, is it a problem?

sounds to me like a strong main spring and the vibration of the cycling block bouncing the hammer onto the valve

but id definatly go with brians idea and get it looked at!!!! that aint normal!

Not to make the obvious point, but why not speak to Mr Nicky T at planet on 01618 725 572, it might be the best thing. and might sort things out quicker also!

Why were people complaining of noise? What was it chronoing at?
Could it be that the input preassure is too high, with some valve/sprining related problem, whereby, excess gas is venting through the valve and recocking the hammer....

As Gyroscope said, it sounds very unlikely...but that would explain it to me..also why it was a loud marker!!:D

If you are getting poor efficiency that would indicate a problem..also..was it recocking and then you have to pull the trigger to cycle it again, or was it running away?

Ok, It does have the stiffest mainspring so that could be the problem, maybe bouncing the hammer off the valve spring. People were only complaining as we were sat around chatting and I was pissing them off!
It was fully re-cocking and not just going auto!

And Gyro, why would I waste my time making that stuff up?? Like I dont have better stuff to do (like fix my busticatedmarker) !

I am going to get it looked at as I guess there could be a problem hiding in there somewhere just waiting to go t1ts up!

Cheers for all the ideas :) And there were a few fellow cocker owners present when it went loopy who were equally baffled.

p.s. Anyone know what springs I should run in a nexus internal'd cocker? Or do i just use trial and error?

Sorry, Headshot, I don't think you'd make stuff up, but it is hard to credit! I don't intend to insult, it is just that what you describe shouldn't be possible. It is damn peculiar. Please explain it if you find out how this happened.

Had a couple of suggestions thrown my way, Its either a loose valve (checked and it wasn't), Badly seated valve (copy body, so may not be manufactured corrrectly, has small valve leak so this is likely!!!!!! ). Or my prefered reason is too heavily sprung (please let it be this! )

So i am about to post in classifieds for a light valve spring and main spring :)

Fingers crossed! :)
