Ok while cycling my e-blade'd cocker yesterday I was getting the usual complaints from people over the noise so someone says why dont i take out the cocking rod, which i duly did and expected a nice quiet non firing cycling sound. but whoooooa! it still cycled and cocked and fired for about the next 300 shots before suddenly stopping firing and then continuing on cycling without cocking as expected.

wtf was up with my baby?

I dont think its possesed but should I get a priest in just in case?

feckking pissed.....again
so when did you start to have these unholy dreams about your cocker ?

if this is indeed genuine, pm me and i will sort out an exorcism. i really dont see how a cocker tech can help you in a case such as this :D

maybe your bolt was made from that batch of delrin that was dug up from the indian burial ground in argentina, they asked my opinion, i told them it was a baaaad idea.

Well, just to check it wasn't a one off (or 300 off) i tried it again and same result only this time I got fed up and stopped after about 400 shots, still firing without a cocking rod! aaaaaaaaahhhh.

anyone wanna buy a nice 'cocker, one careful owner, serial number #666!!!

Desn't seem to interfere with the firing of it the rest of the time!!!

sounds to me like something is bouncing around in there making the lug catch the sear and therefore requiring no cocking rod, have you been playing around with the springs n stuff???

You've heard of trigger bounce, now how about hammer bounce? :D The hammer when uncocked rests against the valve pin, balanced between the forces from the main spring and the valve pin. As the bolt cycles the kick could be bouncing the hammer off the valve pin a little, so when the spring pushes it forwards again it hits the pin hard enough to open the valve and go bang.

Sound at all likely?
