If you have no overdraft it will go into unauthorised overdraft, which basically means as soon as you put any money in, the bank will take it from you. Had this happen to me and trust me its not nice turning up at a tournament, card in hand then having the ATM reject it ;). My bank charged me £38 for a bounced direct debit. Just rang up my branch, said to the manager that I would not hang up the phone till they give it back to me. It worked :D

in my paypal account ive got it linked to my bank account, and to another account with a direct debit card, in the last week ive paid for £100 worth of gear with an empty bank account..... instead of the direct debit card (by complete accident, as the other account had more than enough)

now im getting letters saying they couldnt give paypal the money because the account was empty.... where does this leave me? having to repay all the companies + people......

will i get bank chargers?

will paypal automatically repay everyone from the debit card?
the best way to have your PAYPAL account set up it to have it linked to your card NOT your bank, if you do a transaction and there isn't enough money in there it will get refused. End of . if you link to bank direct debit all sorts of horrid things can happen. your back up should be another card. this way if there is no money it wont send and you wont face charges

also do all you can to verify your paypal this will give you a better service

If its just the one charge, phone up the branch where you account is held.

Tell them its not actually legal charging you that much and you would very much appreciate it if they could return your money.
