in my paypal account ive got it linked to my bank account, and to another account with a direct debit card, in the last week ive paid for £100 worth of gear with an empty bank account..... instead of the direct debit card (by complete accident, as the other account had more than enough)

now im getting letters saying they couldnt give paypal the money because the account was empty.... where does this leave me? having to repay all the companies + people......

will i get bank chargers?

will paypal automatically repay everyone from the debit card?

ok ive just checked and it appears that the card with the money in it is the "backup funding source" so it should just take the money out of that i assume.... however... i wont get any bank chargers will i ? ;o (queue another 5 letters from bank)

It may have caused an unauthorised overdraft from your bank - your bank may charge you - but you can claim it back - I advise you put money in your bank that the debit card was linked to to avoid any potential interest charge too.

Yes - but you can still go overdrawn - which is called an unauthorised overdraft. Traditionally the banks charged you for it - but now lawyers said it was unlawful which means you can claim the money back. Just in case your bank does charge you.

From what it sounds like though it didn't actually take any money from the bank account which had nothing in.

How does paypal list the transaction? Completed?

yep. completed and payments sent... so im assuming that its just taken it from bank account, got no money, then went onto the backup and sent it via the card for my other bank account

Just to add banks can still charge you but not as much as they were.
So a letter costs the bank say 5 quid to produce and send it out but then they charge you 30 quid for the privilge of reciving it thats unlawful charges,
