A good snap shot(1) can be just as fast.
A further benefit to shooting is that some players instictively duck.
I have to agree.
When the opposition is wailing on me, especially when they are relentless, I take one quick snapshot out of the side of the bunker and have never been hit, so far. I've made ppl duck and pull in to where I can then dominate them with my relentless streams of paint.
Seriously, if the snapshoot is accurate enough and on target, you may not hit them but will send them in just long enough to make a move or wrap to take them by surprise.

One of the mistakes I make is that I stay extremely tight to my bunker all the time, even when its just one on one. I'm trying to learn to give my bunker some space, not hump it into submission all the time, but its so cozy... so warm. Oh and I tilt my hopper out to far in the process.

Trading !!!

Got to be the worst problem most players have - they get into trading paint with the opposition - get "tunnel vision".

Use both sides of your bunker and learn to wrap and blind shoot !!! Nothing more satisfying than sending a stream of paint over the top of a bunker on a blind shot - then seeing some fool walking out wondering "where did that come from".

Never stop learning !!!
