I just e-mailed Joern at Millenium rules comitee to get a official reply on this subject. I hope he replies and it gets clarified before we all start dying or taping our clear loaders.

The basis of the rule (as far as i remember) was that bursts in your hopper looked a lot like a shot on the outside, so they were banned due to them being dodgey for marshalls to call on. I think that provided your hopper is dyed to the point of it becoming obvious whether a break is inside or outside your hopper, it should be OK (hope that made sense!)
