Hefty fees with those methods, but you pay your money and take your chance.

Quite agree with Ben, many people say they want something , I will post prior to receiving cash. (These are people I have dealt with, so don't try and rip me off) :D .
I have even sent £900 markers and don't worry because these people have proven to be trustworthy. Benfrain, L1f3, Rayko, Sam Telfer, Rooster and many many others.

What we need is people to take responsibility for their own actions. Deal how you would like to be dealt with. If you tell someone you want their marker do them the courtesy of telling them when to expect funds. If the money won't be available for a week or two let the seller know. When it comes down to it it is all about common courtesy. Pay by bank transfer , 3 days , you get a receipt and the funds are cleared. Safe for everyone.

If you are a new buyer and don't feel easy about sending someone cash prior to receipt of a marker. Ask for references from the people on the forum. Chances are someone has dealt with them, probably me. (marker slut!)

On the trust issue, has anyone tried using any of the big name Uk companies as "3rd party" holders. People like Planet, Just Paintball, Smart Partes etc etc.

It seems fairly common place in the USA with people like Animal paintball doing it. Basically, you send the item to them, the buyer sends the cash, when both are received and verified by the 3rd party they then pass them on, maybe with a small "admin" charge.

I know it's getting away from the topic a bit, but how many people have actually fallen foul of a Bad trader? either as a seller or Buyer. I know Dave didn't want to name names, but maybe that's what needs to be done..

I dont think the fees for online payments are that hefty at all. Ok it may cost an extra couple of quid but at least you know the money has cleared.

I have been stung a couple of times, once by someone who sent me a absolutly knackered marker which was "guaranteed to be in perfect working order" It took a couple of months to finally get my money back. Another time I finalised a sale and sent payment then to find out that the stuff had been sold to someone else without the seller informing me.

Yeah LPS are sound, Chris and Jon are both top blokes :) always got time for you no matter how insignificant your query :)

Dave

P.S. Me also looking for a new marker, but me rock has to go first :) Debating an e-blade, maybe, or something along those lines....

One day I will find a marker which I can keep for more than 3 months :D
