Aaarrrrgghhh!

Got to agree with L1f3 - there is nothing worse or more annoying when you arre trying to sell kit - and it happens quite a bit here.

Unfortunately, I don't think there is the technology built into the board software to get user ratings and the like sorted so what I do is...

All the people who have pissed me around, I either keep PM's or emails from them as a reminder. Now when they say they are having something I don't post it up on the board as sold until the money arrives in my account (which I can always be sure will never happen anyway).

Conversely, there are other people I have dealt with who if they say they want it, I am happy to take the goods the P.O. before I get a sniff of the money because I know they are down the line chaps (yes, Budgie again is a prime example).

For the most part, trading here is pretty good though...

yep im with ben here, there are certain people who i will happily bung stuff in the post straight away for, and they have for me before......id say about half the sales/purchases ive made on here have taken less than 3 days to sort exchange of money and goods. once it gets longer than that it seems to drag out to a couple weeks.
i have also had the nightmare buyer that says they want something then vanishes off the face of the planet!

All I got to say is, once you decide you want something to actually pay for it??!! :)

Got no probs with people saying can you wait a week or so until I get paid, as long as there gonna take it :)

Bought a marker off Ben, took what mate? Three days or so from me showing interest to you actually having the cash in your bank and me playing with me new bit of kit :) (and what a nice marker it is too :p )

I now unfortuantly will think twice about considering purchasing or selling to quite a few people on these boards. But on the other hand there are people like Benfrain, Budgie, Dicky etc who I have had absolutely no bother with at all...

It must infuriate you guys though when people enquire about things and say they want them, then just stop replying to pms' or e-mails, then the next thing you see is enquireing about the exact same thing someone else has for sale a few days later and wasting there time as well....

Not gonna name and shame anyone, but notice not one of the people I have ever had a problem with has replied to this thread :D

One of the easiest ways is for all transactions to be made by paypal or nochex. That way you dont have to wait for a cheque to be sent and If the person who wants to buy off you doesnt pay whithin 2 days (unless other arrangements have been made) then you can offer it up to someone else. OK its not perfect but at least you waste less time in waiting for payments that may never arrive. This way also gives you a bit more peace of mind when buying or selling as there is solid proof that payment has been made and what has been bought.
