On a side note, if it wasnt for the PA and some of thier outlandish claims, there would be a great deal more outside sponsors at the event, and a great deal more mainstream TV taking an interest....
Have I missed the connection here? Should they not promote themselves and instead stand aside, so as not to detract attention from Campaign?

And anyway these outlandish claims that the PA are supposed to have made, that is part of their promotion. Wasn't the consensus was that in promotion reality isn't important? Or do I smell a little hypocrisy?

Maybe thats because you havent shelled out a load of money on promotion, and put weeks of effort into negotiations with the council, venue and various organisations involved....Unlike Scutty, Barry, Niall and Nicola, and the rest of the CC05 staff.

My point was that the CC05 machine has dug deep, and pulled out stops that are not needed in order to run the event, but they have done so to improve the atmosphere and team experience.

As for my comment about the PA, you obviously have not heard about what they have been claiming, and to whom they have been claiming it to. When you do, or if you do, then I am sure you will change your tune.;)

Let's be totally frank here.

Whilst it is true that the promotion is for the benefit of players AT the event, is also designed to raise the awareness and profile of paintball generally, and thus help all site owners and the industry through increased participation in the activity of paintball.
Or am I wrong?

Dougal:)

You are right Dougal, and that is precisely why CC Promotions should be commended for the hard work they are putting in. They are demonstrating their commitment to the sport once again, as they have with the Pro Tour and will with other developments yet I'm sure.

It's reassuring to know that such an influencial organisation is taking their role in our sport so seriously and coming up with the goods to ensure tourney ball keeps on growing in the UK.

A fair point, but lets be honest, even if many of the spectators at CC05 decide to go paintballing, they are hardly likely to travel the three hours down south of london to Campaign are they?;)

XPB, Ray Ko, Adrenaline Photography will we expect you boys there?

Hopefully there will be some more coverage of the UK teams at the millenium event now we r playing in our home country, noticed quite a lack of coverage of the UK ballers in the past 3 events, esp the pro and semi pro teams!

roll on campaign :)
