Just for your information...

Birmingham City Council rejecteed the original photo's of players actually playing, (goggles on and guns up ) because they thought they looked too "sinister" and maybe a bit controversial for the current political climate.

So Campaign Promotions reshot the photos to create a look that was more in keeping with what the Council wanted.

There really is no pleasing some people is there!

Campaign Promotions have worked their asses off trying to promote paintball and the event around Birmingham, and what do you come up with...? blah blah blah unsafe etc.... Whats unsafe about it? Its a controlled environment, and the posters are there to inform people about the event and the sport. Most people have no idea what paintball is, so how could they possibly think that the photo was unsafe?

Having a player with goggles on and a gun in a playing stance was vetoed by the council, so the next best thing was what the picture showed. We tried to come up with a stance whereby it was clear what was going on, but ot threatening in the least. I think that we achieved that.

From the promoter's point of view, Niall and Barry and Scutty will get no money for having spectators there, they do not benefit in anyway from having a huge crowd watching the games. The crowds are for the players, pure and simple. The promoters of CC05 have put their hands in their pockets to promote the event, (And you can be assured that billboard posters are NOT cheap) to make the event better for the players. If you want an event like Amsterdam or Germany where there are NO outside spectators then i am sure CC06 could oblige, and they would save themselves a significant amout of money in advertising. This is not what Scutty, Niall and Barry wanted however, they wanted the best event ever, and they are well on the way to achieving it!

You will be blown away when you get to the NEC, it will be the best event Europe has EVER seen.

I think not. So maybe you can go peddle your doom and gloom theories elsewhere;)

The media presence will be huge, radio, and TV will be making appearances.

On a side not, if it wasnt for the PA and some of thier outlandish claims, there would be a great deal more outside sponsors at the event, and a great deal more mainstream TV taking an interest....

Well said Sam!
Everyone has been putting a huge amount of time and effort into this and negative responses before the event itself are really not helping
You'll all just have to wait and see what we have planned, but I'm quite sure this will be the best Campaign Cup to date.

Jeez some people are touchy, uptowns post didn't sound like a dig to me. I thought the same thing when I saw it, no biggy, thought it was great that there was posters up, and the Kerrang tie-in in excellent especially the scale of their involvement.

So yeah, I'm really pleased about the work that has gone into promoting the event, and through it paintball and therefore to be honest I'm grateful of their efforts. But that doesn't mean that I will withhold any thoughts I have on minor pros/cons of small elements, nor begrudge other people their opinions. If every time someone does a good job you ignore areas that could be improved upon, how will successes be built on?
