good marshalling,
fields were close enough to the setup area
chrono tent and air were situated well. the thing i would say is that there were still only two chronos for everyone.
announcements were good in the players area too, they constantly called out a few games in advance.
food was nothing to write home about, usual overpriced and undercooked rubbish.
trade area was well laid out, although to be honest there was nothing special or really different on display.
couldn't see a thing on the spl/cpl fields. tried to watch a few games but wasn't great.
parking was good and site was easy enough to get to with the use of satnav. the festival park was well signposted, however i didn't see any millenium signs.

overall opinion? I don't know, it had all the elements, but still no atmosphere.

I didnt have a problem with the food, maybe I was just lucky.

Apocalypse didnt do great, but we came together as a team well, but maybe just a bit too late.

Marshalling on the Dye field (blue one) was good, despite one game where I had to have a rather long talk with the ultimate, but the tomahawk field needed some work.

As Dusty said Chrony tent only had 2 chrono's for the entire event which was rather annoying. Didnt help having a bloke firing his marker almost touching the chrono while I was doing mine. Hpac were spot on.

Also didnt hear about anything getting stolen, esp. from cars.

Overall it was much much better than last year, despite one or 2 small things.

p.s. I told you it would be sunny on saturday :)

well me and the wife had a mint time, loved every minute of it. agreed the CPL/SPL was ok if you wanted to see the two corners

we spoke to the guys from Outback and said about the food. lack of fruit salad etc. they said they really didn't know what to expect ! so catered for young party crowd ! but they are aware they didn't have the right stock,

now this is one part that pissed me off. we told family and friends about the players party thinking it would be a good night  so we arrived to party and there were 20 people there  some party animals you lot turned out to be !
was it because it wasn't late what ? gutted not to had some beers they should have had a DJ and pumped it up had it open till 12 it may have got some of you there.

fields were good. didn't get the carpet over grass thing. marshals a few bad apples as always

but a big well done to all who sorted it out and made it happen. we had much fun and would go back there every year spot on guys

You should have gone out on Sunday night mate ;) Chicago Rock Cafe, packed with 'ballers, buy-1-get-2-free on drinks, a DJ and some pretty impressive dancing from two guys from Reckless, made for a pretty good night :)

Wicked day. Good drive up from Somerset, breakfast with Nicky T, great games, good stalls, nicely laid out etc, etc.
Worst bit of the day, Lump signed my rucksack so now its worthless!!!:D:p 9good to see you mate but sorry I missed Em)
Great to meet the guys I have met on here and mates I dont see that often.
Great day!!!

some of us had work today :(
Yeah, I figured that would be the case for many people, thats why the majority of people there seemed to be the US lads and the European teams. Its always the way though, the players party taking place on the saturday night is never going to be great as alot of the party animals are gonna be playing Sunday. Good example of that would be Joy Division; those guys know how to party and have a knack of making it through to Sunday ;) (that said, they were out on saturday night too come to think of it...)

Main thing was just that the CPL is supposed to be spectator friendly, the crowd cant get into the game being 50 feet from the fields!
Completely agree

Ifthat venue is used next year, something has to be done about that.

First of all, it is beyond me why on earth they had placed the fields (CPL & SPL) 6-7 yards from the edge of the grass.... at least moving them to the edge would have helped.

Secondly, even if there is a permanent grand stand there, I really think you need to have a temporary one on the track for any atmosphere to happen.

I thought it was dreary, even in the semifinals, most people didn't really take an interest in the games, because they were too far away to be seen properly anyway.
