a little over a month of the season left and the website has only just been changed, and having been to every event so far this year i'm still waiting for the bigger, better things that were promised to wow me at the start of the year.

You obviously have absolutely no idea how complicated running a series in 5 different countries is. The logistics involved are hugely time consuming, often problems are caused by factors outside the control of the MS board members/event promoters. Transport companies are among the worst!

Tournament organisers, and MS board members have other jobs, other main income generators, and whilst the MS do indeed make money, it does not receive 100% of the attention of the MS staff for obvious reasons. This does not amount to a lack of organisation, merely the recognition that other things are more important.

The purpose of this thread was to enquire about the team list. If more teams registered on time, or early then the team lists would be released sooner. How are the MS supposed to release full team lists when even today there are teams trying to register for the event next week!!!!!!!

You personally always seem to be knocking the Millennium Series when you can. Any particular reason for this? You seem quite happy to sit back and critisise whilst you contribute nothing like the kind of effort the MS promoters/members/staff do.

Just out of interest, who will you be playing CC with?

While I have no more than a passing interest in the MS and that mostly with respect to what will happen down the road and what will Euroballers have in the way of competition, I have to respond to this because it's so ... what's the word I'm looking for, oh yeah--stupid. Moronic? Irrelevant?

1--who cares? This isn't a charity event where everyone is pitching in for some worthy cause.

2--I see, so you're suggesting it's okay if they take the teams' money but not quite measure up because they have other more important things to do? Is that about it, Sam? Or is it more like it's hard to do it right so cut them some slack 'cause they got other things to do that come first?

3--What about announcing a final closing date for registration and then after that you're out of luck? And, who knows, the date might even allow for lists and schedules to be done in a time frame that lets the MS peeps release the info when they said they would. It's a crazy idea but it could work.

4--so what, Sam? Are you suggesting he volunteer to help out or he's not allowed an opinion? Maybe he should selflessly choose to be a ref so he can be part of the answer. Or maybe the MS is looking for donations? Help us serve, give generously. Or perhaps he's only allowed an opinion if it's pleasant? Btw, if this is the your idea of defending the MS from criticism I'm thinking they might prefer you didn't. :)

5--What are you trying to imply here, Sam? If he's a lowly D3 or something his opinion deserves less consideration? Is that it? If I were any part of the MS I'd be paying a helluva lot more attention to my D3 players than to my Pros cus if I lose my D3's I won't be in much of a position to offer those Pros anything in the future.

To jj--I'm sure you're more than capable of defending your comments but Sam has, in one post, ressurrected nearly every lame argument used to maintain the status quo in the short history of Paintball and, frankly, he ought to know better.

Baca, Forgive Sam, because for the first time in his short life he has seen what goes into the planning, build and running of an event. He is precious about it, and I thank him for his loyalty to the project.
I certainly don't think he or his opinion is moronic or stupid. AS for irrelevent......you said it.

So the wider issues...

THe Millennium sure has its shortcomings I'll be the first to admit it. , but believe me we do care, We have been pretty crap at relaying it to our customers. This will get better. Running an operation from 5 separate offices does not work! We have evolved into what we are, a bunch of individual promoters with our own agendas and our own way of doing things all of which have conflicted over the last few years. Its this variety which is one of our greater failings, in short we are inconsistent and that is the singlemost important thing we are addressing. Its just taken a bloody long time to realise we can can work together to sort it out. So we know what isn't right and we aim to fix it. IN fact we have fixed it, but thats another story.

We are a commercial operation. You pay, you decide what you get is vfm, and if you don't like you vote with your feet next time round. If you are a bit pissed about something then great tell us, and we'll try to put it right next time, or we'll stop doing it as we will have run out of customers.

Sam is correct on a few things.

If I spent all the time I spent on putting the CC together on other things, I'd make more dough, My wife would be a lot happier and I'd probably not have an issue with blood pressure.

We closed registration yesterday on the date we announced we would close, and I still have entries coming in today. That is crap! Those teams will miss out as the schedule is half done

As for Mr JJ's points. I have no issue with them at least We still have a chance to impress him.

Johan, We have had no issues with the Belgians or Dutch, so you may be right.

Schedule, SHOULD I repeat Should be up on Monday.

Finally.. See you at the Cup come and say hi.

1--nothing to forgive. Sam is entitled to his opinion just like jj. I happen to disagree with both the tone and content of his opinion is all.
2--See, you get an opinion, too. :)
3--Niall, I have no desire to down play the CC. I even hope that it's a huge success for everyone involved but that doesn't alter the fact Sam's defensive and antagonistic response was actually worse than irrelevant and stupid--it was counter-productive, and, in my opinion, needed to be rebutted. [Primarily because Sam is a vocal and respected player.]
4--well, short of the prospect of competition the MS has essentially had a monopoly on Euro wide competitive paintball. Once the players have a choice beyond playing or not-playing I agree completely.
5--I expect, just not these. ;)
6--I don't doubt it for a second but unless somebody is holding a gun to your head and forcing you to put on the CC I don't honestly see why that should matter to prospective players or teams.
7--perhaps then a different answer was warranted to the thread starter.
8--as you will no doubt be hob-nobbing with the VIPs and Lane tends to run the other way when he sees me coming should I fail to track you down feel free to drop by the bus anytime--drinks on me.

Well Paul - actually he is not, as he is one of the elected player representatives, to the very very VERY secret DEEP undercover Player Committee (I hear special CIA and MI5 training is involved - it's all very hush hush ;)) - which kinda makes his comments even more interesting :p :D ;)

Anyhoo... Enough headbanging between industry 'icons'. When are we gonna get the schedule? An ETA or something would be a lot more reassuring...

Although I do sympathise with the peeps who are putting the event together, not having any idea of the times we are gonna be playing who or on what fields this close to the event makes one rather anxious. I'm probably gonna be dropping somewhere in the region of £300 on playing this event to play in Div3 (paint, entry, registration, hotels etc really do add up) and I wouldn't say I feel particually enamoured with the organisation I can see.

Although I'm sure it will be a fantastic event, it'd be nice to be able to let friends and relatives know if our team is playing in the morning or afternoon of particular days so they can turn up to support.
