Campaign 09 Feedback (previously known as "Ulrich is a tw*t").

I'd kind of included those under Repair/Replacement mostly, and Sundry items. Otherwise it would be an awfully long list :)

Problem is that unless the Millennium decide to divulge their accounts (and if I wouldn't then Im pretty sure they sure as hell won't) we have to guess.

Point is that they clearly are making some form of profit or they wouldn't be doing it. But making cuts in some area's and recouping it elsewhere so as to improve things should work out even (in theory.)

P.S. grats on the CPL Field access for you and Ray, we wondered where you were Sunday on the M5 fields until we went to watch the big boys play :)

Just like to point out that there were more than 12 toilets in the playing arena and more in the car park. Also I did see contractors going around emptying them both Sat and Sun mornings. The question is how well did they empty them and concerns about that were passed on to the relevant parties. Sadly not much organisers could do on sunday apart from move one from the car park into the playing arena.

They are a Limited company so you can access their accounts whether they like it or not. This looks like them...

Whether or not those accounts would actually detail income from particular events is another story...(by the look of it, I doubt it). In addition, I don't think it really matters. They have every right to make as much money as possible (that's why the series continues) and it is feasible to do that and still host a good event. A lot of the issues raised seem like they are more about organisation and people skills than financing (apart from the vendors)....

Indeed. That is probably just a holding company so you would need to do more digging, but as I said above, there is little point; They are not a charity and they must be profitable if players want the series to continue.

Planet Piper away from you freaks!

You have forgotten a couple of things.......... Hotels for ALL the staff and refs, transpotation of getting the goods from each event and the storage of said goods between events, Hpac's bill for the season and my cut :D

Not to mention the insurance cover and medical staff.

Piper's food bill alone was immense, i personally witnessed him walking with no less than four of the aforementioned burgers and all the trimmings, grinning insanely

LOL :)

I did cover Storage and Transportation (although they are total guess figures.)

I didn't cover Hotels, but thats going to be easy to work out. Just need to know the Hotel (Holiday Inn Im guessing as that was the block booking one) and how many people elected to spoon and how many wanted their own room. I spooned at the Premier Inn with my guys as the Holiday Inn had sold out....well actually I didn't I slept on the uncomfortable couch. So thats £54 a room a night for two people. Plus there's food in the evening....does the Millennium pay for that or do they expect everyone to pay their own ?? 4 of us spent £100 in the Premier Inn's Beefeater restaurant Saturday night. (£85 on food, £15 tip to the waitress to apologise on behalf of European ballers for the foreign gold banded team that the waitresses felt were rude and arrogant.)

Hpac....err no idea on that. But if they want next year Hpac can't take the year off and I'll blow air in to everyone's bottles :D

Piper's cut.....crikey there'd be nothing left after that ;)

Again, its all really rough figures, and a lot of it will get bunged in under sundry costs. But there still has to be a sizeable amount left over to play with, be it for development, board directors "wages", etc, etc. I honestly can't believe that they would cut close to breaking even. Its not good business sense, and Im pretty sure we'd hear them telling us thats whats going on and we'd likely see a rise in costs at our end (i.e. higher entry fee's, ID fee's, etc) Which means they have some wriggle room with charges/costs which they can use for our benefit....which ultimately benefits them.

:D

OK my feedback for cc

The venue was OK easy to find and plenty big enough,,i didn't like the way the m5 was again stuck as far away from the rest of the fields as possible (feels like we are the lepers of the millenniums)

I all-so didn't like the way the m5 games were run with the really fast turnarounds, felt a bit like xball and didn't really get much of a chance to enjoy the games or even the standing around having a chin wag with other teams that were there.

There was lack of trade stands,,and there wasn't as many bargains to be had from the stands that were there.

Parking was good, toilets were clean 90% of the time atmosphere wasn't all that good.

Food yes over priced but isn't it always at any event "and to be fair the ice cream was fookin nice"

Reffs on the JT field were gash,,trained at the stevie wonder school of reffing,,its just a shame they didn't allow them to bring there guide dogs on to the field...........

Over all not a bad event but not really good value for money I don't think.

I'd really like to see the accounts filed too ... they might be in the library somewhere classified under 'Fiction' :)
...... if I ran the Millennium, I'd make damned sure all that cash handed in did a mysterious disappearing act ..... only to reappear weeks later hanging out my back pocket ..... yes, I know it's dishonest ...go tell an MP !!!
