i really would suggest using a properly set up, insured and maintained site.

the fact that you're asking these questions tells anyone who knows the answers that you are highly likely to either hurt yourselves or god forbid some poor rambler.

Ramblers tend to ignore everything thats good for them and i have even seen those everest prepared hero's walk straight through the middle of a game zone!

please think about this carefully!

I would like to reiterate the above point, there is a huge safety aspect of the game and from marshalling games I know how stupid people can be.

You cannot guarentee anywhere is safe from ramblers however a properly run site will have taken every precaution they can.

The questions you asked show me you are not experienced enough to know the safety protocols and if anything did happened not only would you be faced with a court case but you would also put the game in a bad light which really isn't a good thing considering the current situation of paintball as a sport.

northants u.k
appreciate the answers evryone they are a great help in guiding me down the right path , especially the answers on air and co2 ,different types of games etc,i realise there was a lot i didnt and dont still know it will be a great help so thanks a lot to all that have answered so far!! a genuine thank you for your time !

also to the posters concerned with where i play
i will play where i feel it is safe and permission is granted, like a site !!, as an adult i feel certain that my associates and i are not going to play on public parks ,i may be "new" to paintball but credit me with intelligence enough to not be running thru my local dog walkers area marker in hand dressed like the mujahadeen (nothants branch) i appreciate the concern but descisions concerning safety are our first concern i feel sure that nobody will get hurt whilst we are playing ,lack of experience does not mean lack of brain

.the differences between co2 and sup air

.where to get co2 can filled

cheers rich
co2 is a liquid which turns to gas. Alot of sites run their guns on it, i believe due to the low cost and amount of shots you can get from a fill. (I personally can't think of any other reason. The co2 bottles are cheap..

As it is a liquid turning to gas, It is effected by the cold which means spikes in velocity from your marker..result marker inconsitent..
and can be cruel to the inards of you marker unless you have a syphon filter installed.

your local paintball site has probably the easiest access to it as they buy the large cylinders.

Most experienced players would 'upgrade' to air as soon as possible for the above reasons and you can buy your own Dive tank with a fill fig and once filled at your local dive shop, use were you want.

The tanks are more expensive but a lot lighter, markers run better on air and are more consistent.
