good ones wont slip, but you advised to buy one from HALFORDS!!! i used to work there, and i thought it a good idea to buy one, but regretted it.

also with the level of turning force required to break open one of these babies, i wouldnt have thought it the best tool for the job.

Would still rather clamp a "damageable" bottle in a vice than an expensive reg.

These babies rule, they'll get an oil filter covered in oil off, and since the seal and threads expand, they will give enough turning force to get it off :D

I made my own which rules, i cast it, using old car pistons then put a lot of filing and milling effort into it :D :D

it sound like the bottle has been loctited to the reg, boil a kettle of water and put it in a large bowl (deep enough to get the reg into it) this will softern the loctite allowing you to then tighten it in a vice and unscrew the bottle with out damaging it.

It may be better to remove the maxflow from the cradle before imersing it in water

my method for removing stuck things invariably involves swearing very loudly then getting somone else to help!

strap wrench is a good idea and get the biggest bloke you know to turn it!

Well jahlad. I took your advice and got my dad to help me :D Put the bottle in a vice, with a cover around it to stop it being scratched, and dismantled the reg (took the manifold off) as much as I could. Got an adjustible wrench and then hit it with a hammer a gew times. Budged it and did'nt damage the bottle at all so I am very happy. Just gotta sell the bottle now :D
