Here is my problem. I bought a second hand Shocker that came with an air reg and 1.1 luxfer (flat bottom) bottle. The bottle has not been off since I got it about a year ago. The reg is an old style max flow 4500psi reg.

The problem I am having is that the bottle is stuck on the reg, and I was going to put a 1.5 bottle on in its place. Deos anyone have any suggestions to help me get the bottle off? I have tried putting the reg in a vice (after taking all the dials off) but to no avail. My last option is to take it to Planet on friday (2 days time) and see if they can get it off. I am not really bothered about the bottle thats on at the moment, so any damage to that would be ok. It is empty incase you are all wondering.

Hope you can all help me in my time of need :(

Vice the reg then use a strap wrench to turn the bottle(the type used for oil filters)

That should have it off in no time.

I had a problem getting a DOT bottle of a reg. In the end it took about 3 people and a vice to get the bugger off. Maybe you need more man power.

pop along to Halfords and buy a strapy lever thing used for getting oil filters off cars, then slap reg in vice (with padding so u dont mess that up) and wrap the strappy lever thing round it and tug away.

Does that make sense?
I think they are about a fiver so shouldnt break the bank.

the bottle jeevus is referring to was actually removed by putting the Bottle in tha vice (padded with half a inner tube for grip) as tight as possible and without dials, using the biggest adjustable wrench i had on the reg.
We had it on the back of a van, with one guy standing on the vice (to stop it moving) bracing himself with the roof of the van (and he wasnt a small lad), and one guy almost jumping on the wrench.
Bottle and reg FINALLY seperated without damage. :)

never liked strap wrenches personally, they tend to slip far too much.
