Nope..Ive been mugged and hit with one ball, and ive been mugged and hit wit 5 or 6...Its gonna happen in some situations..On a run through im gonna be moving fast so 1 to 2 is enough..If im trading, than I wanna be sure that hes out and if that takes 5 or 6 to accomplish my goal so be it...

Example-2 players from opposing teams hit the snake..I put a shot on a player and if he doesnt put his hand up,ill put 2 or 3 more on him so he knows hes out..Not bonus balling

2 players are in a gun fight and i get hit..Im clearly walking off the field and the other player or players for whatever reason think its funny to hit me up and down my back and head..Bonus balling any way u look at it..

If the marshalling is up to scratch it ain't gonna happen.

At a SWPL leg, marshalled by DOA Zealots, I was last man in, players converging on me from all directions and me opening a huge can of whoop ass.

I then heard from the marshall who was good and close "keep shooting, I will tell you when you are hit" No questions, no grey area, I shot my arse off until the marshall jumped on me and told me I was eliminated.

Thats what we need marshalls who aren't afraid to ket in the thick of it keep good and close and pay attention to whats happening.

DOA Zealots and SWPL crew provided top marshalling all season.

Cmon Tyg,you dont even need that rule..Its so clear cut when its happening that its not even funny...Then again, maybe we do need the rule.Personally,I think a good punch in the face of the offender is all it would take to stop the player from doing it again..But hey, thats just me...;)

going back to a point about recball, I think that recball is alot more trust_based, most recballers are purely recball and thats where they're staying and more often than not they're with people they know and trust...

sup'air is alot more competitive and alot faster, therefore imo more paint will be shot, say you goto bunker you're gonna pour the paint down on the victim just so there is no contest about if he's been hit....I think its mainly nerves about them bouncing, and yes overshooting even after you've seen the paint sheen on their jersey is, I think, a punishable offence....
overzealousy in those situations can be painful for both sides, one will get hurt, the other, excluded...

mah tuppence...

Aggressive physical contact. Multi game suspension. :)

Seriously, it's been my expirence that unless it's written in the rules, you can do it. Why do you think the "Freight Train" rules exist, even though the terrain we play in makes the tactic no longer valid? Some yabos (Who shall remain nameless) decided to run 7 out of their 15 players down one side, the front guy took all the hits, and they would steamroll past players who couldn't pump out enough paint.

Same reason we all wear long sleeve jerseys in mid-summer, long pants, shoot 68 caliber balls, can only have ONE air source, one barrel... Some yabo pushed the rules too far, and then they decided to "crack down" on the offenders by making a rule against whatever. And if that means that "X" Ammount of splats = overshooting, then it needs to be done.

Edited to fix a typo, and to add one sentence...

Assault is illegal in all U.S. states punishable by jail time and all the existing leagues can offer is a multi game suspension..With three extras on the team, sometimes(in the prelims) its just worth it IMO..;)

But it doesnt mean its right!!While freight trains were used to gain an advantage, bonus balling is a sadists ultimate dream..Time and time again, people do it because they think its amusing, not to gain an upper hand in a game..Have I bonus balled somebody??Sure have..But ive made an honest effort to not do it after having it happen to me repeatedly..You dont need a rule to know its wrong..You need a rule to enforce the penalty..Which just tells me theres alot of sick F**KS out there who dont see the difference..

Just Wondering

so to go to the far end of a fart, if someone nails you 30 times in the back of the head when you're walking out of a game could you called the cops on them and claim assault or is that covered in the waivers?

People will push the rules. That's a given. We ALL know that people will do all they can. Unless there are rules in place to coax them to do the right thing. As much as it pisses me off to get torched going into a dead box, I also know that I have no recourse to stop people NOR do I have any leg to stand on.

I was told once my a pro 'baller that part of his job on the field was to piss you off so much, you wanted to retire from paintball. He would intentionally shoot to injure, overshoot, and do everything in his power to make you want to leave paintball, and never play his team again. I remember that little snippet when a team wipes a hit from me or overshoots my guys. (And it happened at Skyball. 3 teams out of 8 BLANTLY WIPED against us. One team got caught, and one other guy caught a ball in the staging area from somewhere, still unsure where...)

Oh, and Abba : That's an intresting question. I know that in Hockey, several players have been ARRESTED for aggrivated assault for an on-ice incident. I know one high school coach was arrested becasue he told his players to give one particular opponent the "Special treatment" that landed the kid in the hospital paralised from teh waist down.

The waivers cover the FIELD from prosecution from your injury. If a player attempts to injure you, the waivers do nothing to protect THEM. It's been asked if you light up a 15 year old kid, could you be arrested for assault on a minor? SO FAR, nobody has challenged it. SO FAR, we've accepted "Bonus balls" as a part of the game. I'm waiting for some mom to see her little boy come home black and blue, and taking players to court. It's a matter of time, unless rules are put into place to encourage people to not to do it.

You dont??If you came back and told me that guy intentionally stitched you in the back 30 times walking to the dead box,id tell you you were well within your rights to defend yourself from the player trying to intentionally hurt you, rules or no rules, and I think most would agree...And you know when someones just giving you a few extra to make sure your out and when someones trying to be cute in front of his boys..

Thats your justification as to why people wipe and bonus ball..Pretty lame excuse to me..To be honest, that guy should have had charges brought against him..Plain and simple, paintball guns when used incorrectly can be extremely dangerous..Were at a time when markers, with not much effort can shoot 11-13 balls at someone and the rules havent kept up with the times..Your correct when you say its only gonna take one time for some little kid to be hospitalized cuz some moron thinks its funny,to have some serious heat brought down on us..But the real question is,with no rules in place now to enforce against bonus balling, what do we do to prevent it??I personally think its up to us..If ya see it happening, say something..If it happens to you,say something...Its amazing how vocal we are in forums, yet so mute when we shouldnt be...

lets get all spiritual and rely on karma and the good will of mankind, or we could all accept that some people will always be c*nts and this is something thats getting worse and needs to be address specifically in the rules. So, what does everyone reckon the new ruling should be, lets come up with something productive that can add to the paintball world we all love! :)
