You think that's bad......... we tried to get seven to the lay down on the 50 at nottingham (hyperball) against storm north...... our last game of the day is always worth watching if we aren't doing well. We once conga'd to the rocket. Worst one was a race to the flag, no firing..... bottle of champagne to the player who got closest :) and that was Andy Hattons idea!

Do you want to give me a call, before you Start slaging us of next time please, the number is 01902 445455

I think you need to know the facts, of putting on a game of this size, and the logistics of staging over 700 players in one go, we do things for a reason, and that is to make the game run better and to give the player the best day ever without any delays on the day, we learn every year, and we listen to the players feed back each year.

Last year at 2k3 more players than we anticipated brought paint of us, and we did not expect this, there where players queing for an hour just to buy their paint, because that had decided to purchase paint from us, rather than bring it with them in their cars. So to cut queue's this year ever player will be issued with a box paint as they book in, this way we can get every one to the staging area on time to start getting ready for game on, all we are doing is trying to make the whole event better, if you go to a big game in the USA, they are all are site paint only, you cant not BYO, it,s easly on the their logistics of the game and thats why they do it, we don't what to go down that road our big games
and we will not, but give us a chance to show you what a big show we can put on.

To make this work every player must be booked in the same way, you book in!! you get a box of paint!!, you can't do it any other way when dealing with 700 to 800 players plus in one go, it would be mayhem, and thats what we are trying to get away from, 2K4 is still a BYO event thereafter your first box as you book in, there will NOW plenty of time to collect extra paint that any player as brought with them to use at the event.

As for Co2 most players are now on Air, but you still need Co2 stations there, there will be 6 doubles at this event this year, as we do not know how many players will need C02 on the day, each will be manned by two staff and they have to be paid well, and iam not talking £50.00 a day here, what would you want to be paid for filling freezing 20 oz bottles all day for around 10 hours, it's different with air H-PAC just set up and can Service hundreds of players an hour with no problem, with C02 we have to cover all bases, i would not doing my job if i did not.

XMAN, before you slag us off again and say that we are ripping off all big game players, why do you think this years numbers are looking to break last years numbers in booking, i will tell you, we put on a good event, and do the job right.

Once again XMAN, here's my Number 01902 455455 or mail me at Paul.parkes@warpedsports.co.uk

Awaiting your call

I agree the slaging was a bit on the hard side :( and yes you have a great event, and do the job right. I’ve not said otherwise, and couldn’t. The original point was (first thread: it does not state this on the booking forms.)
the hidden costs, i.e. the cost of Air and Co2 not being displayed on the flyer/ticket that has been sent out. The costs are fine £60 for a this event and a box of paint is great, but some will think that turning up and then been charged another x pounds to play isn’t on, when you buy a ticket for an event the price of the ticket should include total costs, so should have stated costs are £65 or the flyer should have stated the extra costs will be incurred for filling of Air and or Co2. by not doing so has caused this thread.

If I’ve upset you sorry, but it’s a point of view :)

I do take back the ripping of part, which warped sports is not, but as a company sending flyers out, you should state all the facts.

:)

Is it me or is not the information about the cost of air posted on all the Big Game info sites and forums and has been there from day 1 and was amended to make it a simple payment transaction to H-Pac. The only place it is missing from is the booking form.
Are you saying that you never read anything about it before you downloaded the booking form. Maybe it should be on the booking form, but even though it ain't its plastered everywhere else and your arguement would have had credence if warped had not posted the info elsewhere.
Basically you should check your facts and have the decency to query the organisers before you come on a public forum and accuse
someone is ripping us off big style
Please note what you say on a forum can be used against you in a court of law and Warped could easily take you to court and win just because of that statement and the fact that the information is boldly advertised everywhere else. You could say this sort of action would be over the top, but then so is your allegation. Next time you may not be so lucky
And as assistant team manager of a team in the PA league, you should know that event organisers would always prefer you talk to them first.

I've ready said, sorry to Warped Sports and have taken back the ripping of part,
but to point out I’m not whining about the money.

Lets take it that my point of view about printing the correct information on the flyer’s seem naff, but It's my view. My point seems to have been wrapped up, so I’ll end it by saying

Warped Spots: please forgive me, it’s just my view. :) and it’s not about anything else other than showing correct information on the flyers.

and yes i agree i should know better,

There have been flyers/booking forms sent out to all major paintball companies, some companies have even have asked for them to be sent, players pick these flyers/bookings forms up and read the info on them, and yes there is not a single word about air or co2 on them but if you where interested in playing and you are running your marker on air/c02 what would you do?, you would call the game organiser to see what the set up was, and this is what players are doing and always have, they ask and we tell them the price, we have never put the price of air and co2 on our booking forms ever we never have.

Before players down load their booking forms form our web site all the info on air and co2 is there for them in black and white for all to see, some players just book in by credit card over the phone, we tell them the price when they book, all info on the game is on most paintball forums that take big hits, plus most players call us before they book in and we tell them everything they need to know before they book in, we do not mislead anyone in anyway and that's a fact.

The price of air and co2 as been the same price for the last 2 years at our big games, this year H-PAC are doing unlimited fills for a £ 5 that’s all that's changed, do you really think at last years game with 702 players on site, they did not know the cost of air/co2, there would have been a riot, (like as you say) we had jumped the hidden costs on them on the day, then that would be ripping players off.

The players that attend our games are rec ballers, scenario teams or tournament players who want to let off some steam, we are not talking Joe public here, the players who attend are mainly players in the sport and know what they need to have on the day to play ball and this includes air and co2, have you ever played one of our big games? No I don’t think you have you would have, because we would not be here now, but I think you have picked up one of our flyers of somewhere and not looked in to the whole fact of the matter of what we do, and that is giving the players the best day possible without ripping anyone off, everyone has got their own view I know that, but instead of slating us off on this forum for all the world to see, and this gives new players and new customers not only at our big game but paintball has a whole a bad reputation when any new blood to the game who reads the said threads, this is not very professional of a team manager within our sport, that we all love you, and a sport that we are all trying to uplift at the moment, could have called us the numbers on the flyer and asked for info on anything you wanted to know on our games and will would have given you the info you needed

Regards
