Best Vs Worst thing about this site

Good things: Easy to use. "New posts" button is a God sent. Plenty of extra features, such as PM's. A whole lot less BS than many other forums. (for obvious reasons I won't say anything about the moderating)
Bad things: Looks a lot like many other boards, but that's just appearance. A couple of small groups have formed, and are becoming too cliquey (is that spelled right?). And I agree that here should be a maximum size to pictures in sigs, or ban them alltogether.

You know you love Garfield really ;)

Its little jon who has the really big sig pics, they are huge! And i cant put my team name in my sig if i dont have one. :(

I suppose a little advertisment would help the forums alot, but be prepared for the mods to actually have to work :)

I think one of the best things about this board is the fact that it's really a good reflection of English Paintball, with all sorts of grass roots players posting here, but also that there is a strong international presence here too.

The one thing that would make the forum better would to condence the size of screen space used by posts ( and to ban those massive tags in people's sigs). The compact nature of the old forum is something that i miss. Making the posts smaller would allow for people to scan through the thread easier.

Overall i'd like to see more information making it's way onto the main site. Stuff written by people on the forums, a place to post pictures taken at local events?

Worst Things, pm size is always about 20 too short, I always need 2 revert 2 txt msg style wrdings. ;) The Friday nite post pub filter is needed too. would be nice to see more non-UK scene folks around too, although there are plenty, it would be nice to get more.

Oh, and the new thread button is too close to the post reply button ;)

Bestest Things, you can turn off sig pics if they offend you ;) :p quality of debates. A good place to avoid coursework* ;)

*speaking of which, back I go

Interesting Bud, are we/you part of it?
I hope not. (Although perhaps we/I do sometimes make the odd inside joke) And I doubt that all the people who are are aware of it. I have no problem with the odd wisecrack between buddies, or the occasional BS thread, but some people seem to use these boards to save on their phone bills.
Every now and then we clamp down on that sort of thing, but for some reason after a shortish period of time, it starts again. And somehow it's always the same people involved.

You mean like "Walk On - NPF Bassets Pole (UK)" in recball. Ok, i do it too, but not frequently, not like that!

Wah....but...er....well.........what kind of a git would do that eh?

Best thing about the boards, for me it's the sense of community that exists aound here and, (in general), the way people conduct themselves. It says to me that the rules are there, the moderators impose them if necesssary, but there isn't the "power mad" brigade that exist on some forums that clamp down on every little off topic comment.

It makes P8 a nice place to hang around:) Unless Phillip is online that is!

The worst.....

well as awful as it may sound, the seemingly huge influx of pre-pubescent numpties from around the globe that flood the forums with rubbish.

That's the worst thing for me, trouble is it's a free world and a public forum and everyone should be welcome, so I guess I'll go back to being a miserable old fart then.

On the other hand, do posting guidelines exist for the site? I've read the FAQ and there's only info on the site and not acceptable posting. Perhaps a sticky in each of the forums that has a bit of guidance for the newcomer could cut down on the ample frustration caused by these well meaning youngsters:rolleyes:
