Call me an arse (I'm sure some of you will) but I'd consider most of the players mentioned to be more versatile than the titles given. ie. Edwards/Truter/Tommy/Latham etc can play pretty much anywhere and I'm sure they do. This kinda blows the doors off this whole point/insert/support lark.

Discuss. ;)

Front : Piper
Mid : Piper
Back : Piper

He just fills the whole field :D

But on a serious note.....

Front : Tom Pemberton, he's the next Ollie Lang ;)
Mid: I'm gonna give a shout to Al Woods here, underrated superstar
Back: Ledz or Bozza

One thing I would say is I don't think there are enough mid players in the UK, many teams seem to be spilt front/back with few understanding how a mid should play, seems the role of the mid/insert hasn't quite permeated through all levels in the UK but seems that the US teams have it down. Some teams have learnt, but more need to.

Anyone agree?

Yo i think your right man, how can u label a position to any one GOOD player, you should be able to play out all positions on tha field if u wanna be that great, im sure these guys kick ass in most places on a field, obviously they will have their prefrences though

peace

Dude, I type about you and hell, you appear, do I get 3 wishes? :)

I agree, long been an advocate of having 7 front minded players on the field, just playing in diff positions. :)

But as many play everywhere, maybe the question is actually "best player in the uk....while playing front/mid/back"

Hope you were typing nice things bro :D

You only get one wish though.

Thing is, without contradicting myself, you can have good point players and good insert players etc....but I think we all know now that the future is the whole (as it says in PGI) 'uni' player thing. A truly good player should be able to play in all spots well. It aint that hard really, just takes time I suppose and some baddass training, depends how much you want it. I'm all for some solid support dudes but they still need to know that when it's needed they can move up and help dominate a fifty. Support doesn't just mean standing at the back with a cannon anymore.
