Like I said - when Sally Gunnell was being interviewed, she was keen to stress it was for ANY sport. Skateboarding was mentioned as well as other sports like darts of all things! It's not so much about the sport, as finding people with the right attitude and commitment.

I reckon it will naturally focus on more main stream sports (it is the BBC after all) - but the worst that can happen after you apply is that you won't hear any more about it from the BBC.

I'd reckon it was worth a go :)

Yes, but in the UK paintball is not recognised as a SPORT at all.
Mildly O/T but this is my field:

The Sports Councils have never actually said outright that Paintball isn't a Sport. The lack of formal recognition is due to a technicality that that don't think recognising us would be "a priority in helping the Councils meet their strategic objectives"

Interestingly enough both the VOA (VAT Office) and IR (Inland Revenue) accept Paintball as a Sport for auditing purposes so we do have some Government recognition, just not from the department that matters ;)

OK, point taken. But I figured that since 99.99% of people in the community think of it as a sport, it was worth a try. Maybe the BBC won't look at any paintball applicants, but there's a chance they might. Then perhaps that could lead to more official recognition.

What's the worst that can happen? The applicants won't here anymore about it.

LOL - ain't that just typical.
