How can better/more reliable/faster equipment not make a difference? it must do. Just think about it, hypothetically, if you could have two physically identical cockers same trigger pull, set up and weight. One with 8 bpf and one with 10, which would you play better with?
The real question is how do you decide what makes a marker better? each top end marker has it's own advantages and disadvantages, the cocker is accurate, but you need a full trigger pull, the shocker is fast and easy but weighs a ton. i happen to prefer my shocker to my cocker, but I'm pretty hefty, so it doesn't unbalance me. Bottom end markers are slower and reduced range, but a fast aggressive team can play around this, turning the light weight to their advantage.
The difficulty is proving any of this, no two players are the same so it's impossible to isolate the "best equipment".
Merry Christmas.
