Bad Company and Naughty Dogs

I was inspired to ask this by tha stoopid marker' thread below...

Given that the marker does/doesn't/might make tha player, who thinks Company would have had a stronger season if they played with, say, Angels, rather than Spyders?

And on that same point, would Naughty Dogs have taken an NPPL or two off of Trauma had they been shooting electros rather than non-assisted Cockers?

I'm tempted to say yes...
In any sport athletes are always trying to get that little technological advantage, be it by wearing the "sharkskin" suits in speedskating, or some special coating on soccer cleats.
It's obvious that sweetspotting is made just that little easier when you can put more paint in the air. It also makes snapshooting just that little bit more effective. So it may well have been like you say.
That said, my weapon of choice is a Blade framed Cocker...no Eblade, just regular.

How come?

I think it would be interesting to see how Company, and Dogs play with the use of high end electros. It would definatley rest the marker to player question if there results improved

Planet Piper away from you freaks!
mmmmmmm

That's almost like saying the football boot makes the footballer (that would be soccer to you yank!).

Surely it must come down to team work more than equipment?

BC they seem to never have gun problems they came 4th at the World Cup all shooting Spyders. The AA never made the finals and they shoot a good electro marker that a lot of tournament players use. Bob's Ironmen never made the finals and they all shoot Timmy's.
So in answer to your question.................... The marker does not make the player.....

BC and ND

Admittedly, my thread was written hastily after a heavy night on the apples, where somebody had annoyed me. But i believe there is an arguement there.

BC and ND- sure, they've done very, very well for themselves. But I make the point that with equal amount of talent, in my opinion, the team/player with the more technologically advanced marker will be more successful. Their success could be put down to them having more talent than their opponents.

Thats not to say that the marker makes the player but that it can go a very long way in maximising an already existing skill/ talent.

I wasn't trying to diss anyone with less than the best marker out there (i haven't for a start), and sorry if i gave that impression. Now, feel free to humiliate me!:)

Pipes, you're not wrong but you ain't altogether right either. Your analogy works fine if the comparison is the latest made for soccer boot being worn by one top team while the other top team wears regular tennis shoes. I daresay, the lads in the regular shoes are at a disadvantage that has nothing to do with their skill at the game.

In other pro sports there are invariably rules about equipment that are intended to assure, as best as possible, that the players play on a level field and results are player not gear dominated. Which means at some point with real Pro pball they will have to actually have and enforce equipment rules, doesn't it?

But surely you can only enforce a maximum, rather than a minimum?
Major League Baseball insists on wooden bats when everyone else is allowed to use aluminum. There are even requirements for gloves. But, yes, most rulings enforce maximums--like in auto racing--but it's often done in very complex ways; ground clearances, windshield angles, scoop sizes and volume of drawn air allowed as well as weight, engine sizes, feul use, etc.
And, of course, when it comes to safety related gear most sports where it's relevant regulate minimum standards, too.

For what it's worth, I believe in the quote:

"Firepower wins games, shoot more paint". as quoted by hmmm I can't remember but it was in Decembers PGI (knowing my luck twas probably one of BC / ND).

It's gotta be frickin difficult to snap shoot somebody when you've got Paint Raining in. I'm not saying it's "all" down to high ROF's but mix in with al the other skillz and your gonna blow people of the field. So in my opinion, more paint in the air would for BC and ND = more kills. Flipside more technology more to go wrong.... Nothing scarier than Angels going down at the 10 second count hey Buddha????
