Astroturf! Good or bad surface to play ball on?

On the whole I hate astro turf! Ok its nice an even, but trying to slide in to barricades full tilt hurts like hell (ok, so I'm a big wuss!) But I burnt out two pairs of JT trousers.

At capaign fields 1 and 2 were much more suited to me.

And this isn't sour grapes - we had some of our fastest and most convinicing wins on the astro fields (esp Tomahawk)

Definatly better , than those tarmac 5 a side pitches they were using.
Made me wince just looking at them, not half as much tough as watching an Avalanche player nearly cripple himself doing a knee slide

Astroturf

The astroturf at campaign was cool, but more poweful blower thingies would have helped to blow away unbroken paint- it was like running on marbles!

Apart from that, astroturf fields are more often associated with sports centres where spectators are more common- surely this can only help paintball?
