Yeah, first game of Campaign, nice new shiney Rase pants. . . .first slide.. . . hole through to the skin. . . ok so it was a pretty monstrous slide! :D Good job i've got 'ard knee caps or it could of hurt, no girlie no pads here! :D :p

Otherwise Astro turf is top to play on but definately 2nd to a nice pitch to play on. :)

If paintball was bigger and I was richer I'd make a supair centre just like the JJB 5 a side place, it'd be wicked.

Unfortunatley its not gonna happen.. :(

Personally I loved and hated it...

loved it because of the flat field, also if you had proper turf shoes it wasn't slippery.

hated it because it has hell on pants, tore up a pair and we didn't play that many games on it. Also if organizers want to use it for more events there need to be a better system found to secure the barricades to the ground, sand bags inside just don't cut it.

I'm with you on that one as well! In the above mentioned slide in to the bunker (a lie down box) I hit it body first and found myself chasing the bunker as it rolled away from me! :D Funny now, but not at the time! :D

I would have to agree with the comment of securing down the bunkers. They did tend to act like weebles when you leaned into them, especially the ones on the Tommahawk field.

When I played at Campaign in my Rase trousers, I could not damage them at all. After three days play, 7 games on Astro I think, my trousers were not split, or even frayed that much. Long live the invincible Rase trousers :D Maybe we can design a less damaging astroturf to play on, that is kinder to your trousers, and will also 'grip' the bunkers in some way? Would be nice if that happened, but I cannot see it somehow :(

If we weren't...

... sponsored by Dye and I had actually paid for my pants, I would be sending Niall the bill :)

Unfortunately I can't think of any way to secure the damn barricades except maybe sandbags on the outside with the archor straps going to them instead of pegs??

Worst part was watching teams use the "rolling barricades" to their advantage. Saw numerous team on the Raven field roll one of the large lie down beercans as if he where driving a steamroller. He did get some great angles on the other team :)

Surely the player should have been eliminated, for moving the bunker???

You get pulled if the peg comes out of the ground when you move the barricade, as these were on the astroturf there were no pegs, so while moving them is a little naughty but to my knowledge there is no rule that says moving them will result in any penalties.
