I for 1 really enjoyed myself, We played on both the Div 2 field for our prelims and the Div 1 field for our finals. They both seemed exactly the same.

From all the moaning it sounds like you all should come to Freaks for training and the NSPL for tournies as they are both pretty spot on. Syd runs a good tournie :)

Stop trying to read things between the lines that are not there.

Russ
No reading between the lines is required- it's quite obvious from where I'm sat.

What possible motivation could another tournament organiser have for trying to belittle another event? Petty jealousy?

Interesting that the only person who's remotely bothered about the size of the fields was someone who wasn't there, doesn't play and who has a history of self-righteously trying to promote his over-hyped league.

Here we go again  ;)
Olly I do love you, you little German sausage but why does everything have to come back to a national league. Yeah sure it may be a good idea but it will take a LOT of organisation and backing and I dont think there is that level of commitment in this country. If you want one so bad mate, why dont you set it up? I for one wouldnt play a national league as it is far too serious for me. Turning up to a local event ithout training and playing some paintball with my mates is all I want to do now :)
This country cant even support one leg (CC) in this country let alone a whole league! and yes I know the UK was represented well this year :)
Lets not make this another we need this, we need that thread as I dont know why Millenium even bother with the UK with all the crap they get and support they dont recieve from this country. I will be VERY surprised if they hold one here next year. Sorry Olly but I dont see it happening.
As for field sizes Russ, I think fields should get shorter ever year then us old boys wouldnt have to run so far :D
Nige

The CPL field layout at the last PA was about 4 metres too wide!!!
There is no way you can compare that field to the correct dimensions of the MS fields.

D7,s, Freekz and Pro active up North had an almost identical set-up to the Millennium fields. The ECS event also had an almost identical set-up. It was only the PA field that was the wrong size before the event!!!

The playing area was exactly 46 x 38 checked and then double checked, the netted area was bigger than usual.
If you want me to check my facts before I say anything about something I suggest you do the same.
At the next event I will loan you our measuring wheel and you can check yourself.

If I criticised the Masters and people believed what I was saying there is the potential for some sort of gain.
What on earth could I gain with a criticism of the Millennium Series.
I have been involved in paintball for nearly twenty years and I say nothing on here that I have not said or will not say to the MS guys.
Jealous of the Millennium Series, only the way they manage to ignore players and those same players let them get away with it, remember the players committee!

A few years ago a major player in paintball was going to finance another European series I do not think that is totally dead in the water and if it did materialise the benefits to the players would be fantastic because both series would have to compete with each other at the moment it is a virtual monopoly.

I could have measured the CC fields for you whilst I was on one of my many tea breaks.

Anyway, in your book 4 inches = 12 inches.

That's why all your women are always disappointed. And probably why women are so bad at parking - they're confused.

You are your own worst enemy!

Why do you bother coming on here talking a load of sh*t about field sizes, ignoring players and having a monopoly over European paintball then?

The question remains, what on earth do you have to gain from criticising the Millennium Series?

trying to promote his over-hyped league.
Woah woah woah, now I feel I have to stick up for the PA here somewhat. It is the best National event we have. Its the right format, and has the right fields (4 metres wider or not). It holds all the best teams in the country (bar a couple) and has been used by many teams over the years. People out there may or may not agree with Russ and the PA staff, but that doesnt mean the league is over hyped! If anything it needs more hype to just keep on getting better.

There have been problems and issues with the PA on many occasions. But thinking about it rationally there is not a single tournie I have ever been to that was perfect. Well maybe Toulouse if they bring back the cheerleaders. But my point being, Russell will chat to you if you have a suggestion or comment. He has always accommodated our views on change. He even apologises when he is wrong.
