They look cool. Surprised Bowen hasn’t tried this yet. One of the Eclipse Factory Team guys in the USA did his Egg in the same colours of his Gun, Red, White and Blue. Buy dipping in each end in a different colour, but before anyone does this remember that you are not allowed 2 tone loaders in Millennium rules.

Bringing up this thread instead of making a new one. I'm planning on doing this, and I saw on PBN that you can use a rubber mask or even glue-gun glue to shield parts of the shell from the dye, and as a result get different effects.

Would that count as two-tone, as per millennium rules? If you do it with spare shells it wont be a problem, but I'd wanna show off my bling hopper!

ok ive been looking around all the forums etc about this and hell yeh it sounds kool. Ive also seen a few sets of proteus and soem random other objects such as computer cases etc using this dye. No moving on to lenses, have been recomended not to try this but what effect would it actually have, i have an old dye lense that to tbh is so screwed inside i couldnt see a punter being shot if i was stood a foot to hsi side.

Now is there any reason why a lense would break if i wer eto try this. If there is no logical reason and all i have is advice not to try. i pplan to dye the lense and shoot a bag of paint at it at botu 350 fps to see what happens.

good idea?? bad idea??? Any scientific or just plain common sense responses would be acceptable!

I wouldnt advise it. You have to boil the water, and this will weaken the lense, as it will become flimsy, and will become misshaped. But its up to you, but i wouldnt try it.

hmm okies, mishaping the lense now there a prob, seeing as dye lenses are hard enough to change as it is.

Well ill prolyl try it when i do my hopper, but ill get a new lense first so if i totally anhilate it then i can just chuck it. just thought could be cool having say the union jack on ur lense :)

Wouldn't do it on a lense... for one it will weaken it and you have no idea what effect rit dye would have on the material a lense is made of... Personally wouldn't wear any lenses that had been exposed to boiling water, and a dye designed for clothes!! :)
