I am with mario on this 1.
We have a path to follow and any changes in a time line could screw up the present as we see it. I am sure there is a word for it which i heard on star trek a while ago.
Say for example you 'created' gun powder to try and stop an event which has already happened (because you went back in time) a huge arms race we come (its a fact we are far more creative in times of war and most major break threws in technology is because of war).
Say you tried to increase hygiene at an earlier point in OUR time line, would we not all be in NBC type suits way before our time?
I dont believe in fate and dont believe that a path is laid out already for us what i do believe is that no 1 person or group of people have the right to try and decide the future for everyone else and that we must take each day as it comes

Don't worry about it too much. If somebody went back in time and you stayed here, no matter what the guy does, your present won't change. What's done, can't be undone.I am with mario on this 1.

Time travel? Ain't gonna happen.
Even if we manage to travel faster than light, you still won't go back in time. A lot of people think you would, simply because the light would have to catch up with you.
But let's assume you move away from Earth at twice the speed of light. You turn around after a few minutes, and you see the Earth as it was a few minutes ago. Cool. Then you head back to try and see yourself take off or whatever. Guess what, by the time you get back, the light will have caught up with you, so no time travel...
i'd pull some stupidly rudimentary gcse chemistry crap and offer my services as an adviser of some sort to the local nobility and live it up in luxury.

i would introduce the world to porno (the back in time hugh hefner) OR do everything i could to make sure our lass wasnt born so when i came back i didnt have to put up with her moaning about how much money i had spent on paint this week
