Sorry, Doc, but the volumizer pre-Speed/Angel 4 has never been anything but cosmetic. Apart from looks, it is pointless to put a volumizer on a LED, LCD or IR3. With the Speed and Angel 4, as you have noted, there is a valid functional reason for using a volumizer on the right hand chamber - this increases the size of the air chamber and thus lowers the Angel's operating pressure.

On the original LED's the volumizer (if it was big enough) aided in lowering the pressure, as the internals were not the higher flow variety found in the late model (late '99, '00) LED's and LCD's. The difference was small though, and most LED's nowadays have been retrofitted with the LCD internals due to the originals wearing out, so for all practical purposes they're unecessary on the LED as well.

Dr. you are still wrong, the configuration of the air chamber on the LED was essentially the same as the LCD, IR3 to gain volume of air to actually do any good the chamber needed to be the opposite side of the LPR as designed, somewhat in the way of the Impulse low pressure mods with a mounted chamber but fed from a hose in a differing part of the LPR configuration.

So what you are saying is that you can have 2 volumeizers on the front?

Only on the speed or IR4, if you want it to do anything. You can put 2 volumizers on any angel, but it will only be cosmetic on the led, lcd or IR3.
I think that's about it.

Allright mate, the piping is ordered but i missed the delivery today. i'm going to pick it up from the carriers tomorrow morning.
I've sourced good quailty fittings as well, even the new angel ones, and at a much better price. The pipe is 3 times as strong as the current type available, and can actually handle the pressures in it.
I'll keep you posted when i have everything and it's tested.

Tom.

No when I said on the other side I meant that when you mount a normal volumiser on an Angel it is on the left hand side as you look from the barrel end, but as the the LPR/exhaust valve design/layout on the Speed and A4 is different it works. to get the "idea" to work on the other Angels you would need to tap the side of the Angel body run a hose to the "new" chamber so it would "appear" similar to the Impulse and even the Matrix low pressure modifications. The nearest in this idea is the Bonebrake modification, and nearest is as close as it gets to actually working. If you were to put two volumisers on the front of a Speed or A4 the one on the right hand side would be cosmetic as the interconnection of the airway passages internally is deifferent to all the other Angels if you where to run a normal (as seen on hundreds of Angels) volumiser on the left and one on the right the right hand one would have to feed the air into the side of the Angels body to work, as described above. I am probably not explaining this particulary well in words but as already said on All Angels other than the two new Models, Volumisers don't do a thing and even on a Speed/A4 you still only use one use two and it still means the second is cosmetic.

all you need to know is that they aint really needed. Wdp make one type and even then it aint a real voulmiser, it's a pressure guage and that. The only marker in the angel range where it's advisable to have a volumiser is the new a4. don't waste your money and add weight to your gun.
