Um... yes, yes that's what I meant... :D

Still, it's not just us non-mods who get confuzzled:

A few comments:
  • The X-ball format is free to use as long as you provide credit to Procaps in your blurb. Visit www.xballpaintball.com and read the FAQ if you're not convinced - I know it's a bit much to expect kids to read these days, but it's not exactly hard to find!
  • I have researched scoreboards and found decent ones to start around the £2000 mark and go upwards from there. So I did a little further delving, and expect to be able to produce X-ball scoreboards for under a grand if there is a demand for them (7"-9" timer and scores, 5" timeout and penalty displays, remote console connected via cable or wireless, can be run off mains or a car battery.) You can make do with a handful of stopwatches, but it's not a patch on the real thing. If it's the sort of thing that anybody organising an X-ball event would be interested in, please get in touch with me!
  • Where do I sign up to play? :D

Marchbrook Leisure has a top notch Cricket pitch that they let paintballers trash :D
It was used for the Welsh open this weekend.
I'm the manager, give me a ring and I'l see what I can do to help.

surely fields would not be a problem, there has got to be enough teabags and equivalent bunkers across the uk, im sure that the site owner at my site would lend the organisers bout 2 or 3 5man fields, plenty of bits in ther and if others did the same im sure we could fix something :D:D:D

i mean anyone who is going to want to play this ... aka most people, would want to ensure it works best and therefore are more likely to try and help

also heard good things bout marchbrook.......could this really be happening :D

I believe licensed X-Ball(TM) has to be played on licensed X-Ball field kits. Getting hold of standard fields is never a problem, either way the main issue would be getting hold of the pillars.

Not a necessity but they do change the game considerably.

Again, go and read the FAQ on www.xballpaintball.com - I don't think they say anything about what field you have to use. The rules assume you are playing 5-man airball, but that's about it.

Of course, a proper full X-ball field would be far preferable to a random hodge-podge field, but beggars can't be choosers ;)

Hodge podge doesnt cut it man... mainly because if its gonna be set up over here (and assuming X-Ball continues in Europe) then we need to try and set it up in such a way as it helps the UK become more competitive on the international scene.... we'll see ;)
